The Court of International Trade in New York on Wednesday said President Trump exceeded his authority to impose tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act of 1977 (IEEPA).
I have a feeling this Country is headed for martial law.
Think of the financial liability these judges are creating by banning President Trump's tariffs?
This will be overturned but the damage will be done.

My understanding is that Congress granted the executive branch the authority to levy tariffs under the IEEPA. So, how is it that Trump exceeded his authority granted to him by the Congress? Does not the president also have the authority to declare an economic emergency? Balancing horribly lopsided trade deficits to save the economy is one such emergency. Didn't Nixon place a general tariff for just that reason years ago? Therefore, this is just one more example of a court exceeding their authority and boundaries in order to stop the Trump agenda. This will be another case that will have to go before SCOTUS for clarification on the limits of executive power. But, it needs to be done in a hurry. Markets can't take the uncertainty for long.

We all cheered and elected every federal judge in landslide after landslide. It was glorious!
