Kroger Supermarket Chain to Close 60 Stores Across the U.S. – The Retail Collapse has Begun
With the apparent beginning of WWIII and the conflict between Israel and Iran dominating the headline news this past week, many other significant news stories have seemingly flown under the radar of both corporate and alternative news sites this past week....
Wait, did that article just claim that ICE deporting people, is taking money out of our economy? If anything, it's doing the opposite because now they can't send the money back to Mexico.
Left has been saying that for long time. They lied.
The article is clearly leftist propaganda, whining about sending 500,000 foreign criminals back to their third world sh-t hole country, and complaining about ICE doing its job. Kroger is a company that watches the bottom line. The 60 stores to be closed are under performing, meaning they are not making enough money, or they are actually losing money.
Agree… leftist rag. It is interesting to read the propaganda occasionally.
I could get that far in the article. My island just tipped over to port. u/#peewee
Seems I read an article recently about Kroger going all in with customer surveillance. Even cameras on individual shelves IIRC.
Probably in the blue states. Otherwise they will steal even the diabetic socks.
Kroger is about the wokest NWO grocery there is, outside of maybe Whole Foods.
It isn’t possible to go into a lot of them without running into staff that’s either tranny or lesbians who really hate their bodies.
Agree.
Probably all in commie states.
I honestly imagine it will be in poorer locations where people steal cart full's of food or at self check outs. I have already heard of some locations around my neck of the woods (the areas that are unsafe and have high theft for just about everything) have taken away their self checkouts because of such things. If it's politically incorrect to state why like the article says, I'd imagine it's because of that, kek.
In a lot of large cities (all leftist shithole) there are ZERO supermarkets because of the low IQ chimps stealing them blind and then not allowed to do anything but call the police who in turn do nothing because the city is run by a leftist Soros backed DA who would do nothing but release them with maybe a summons to appear. And if they actually did appear, the leftist judge sides with them, and they walk, only to do it again and again and again.
Is that where they started pushing the “food deserts” thing?
Yeah, the MSM loves to put stupid labels on things. But they won't report on why the supermarket is closing. They totally avoid the facts.
It’d figure that’s why they ran that stupid story so hard.
Heres the new move- criminal fuck goes i to store and buys bag of groceries. Walks back into store and adds more shit to bag... Walks by my hubs who watches with Safeway employee as dirty criminal.bitch Walks by and states "I'm not a criminal" as she Walks out with unpaid shit, as employees watch and are not allowed to do a fucking thing
That dirty bitch and her criminal degenerate friends are another MAJOR reason prices are not dropping
Someone has ro pay for stolen shit, and it's the good guys that actually pay for shit that carry that burden
If I see a theft in progress I WILL trip a bitch and laugh
I know WA and OR they were doing very badly.
Union employees and high wages and lots of shoplifting, make for a very difficult buisness.
Those are the big factors, people are also becoming aware of all the poison in main stream grocery stores.
The poison is in not-so-mainstream sources as well.
Yep. Try buying “food” at a Dollar Store. You’ll be lucky if there are three relatively safe items in the whole store.
Yes. It's very true.
Everything is locked up now.. Fucking $2 toothbrushes
Then they need more employees to lock and unlock....
Buisness needs to push for law and order.
Alaska is a red state. Anchorage is a purple city. The surveillance is here and it seems each time I go something more has been put under lock and key...
Kroger has had high prices without being as nice as a Publix for like 20 years. Amazing its just now folding.
(Edit, not disagreeing with the premise. Just not surprised its them biting the dust.)
I was in the NW. Kroger bought out Fred Meyer. Back in the days, Fred Meyer was excellent. Kroger, no one wants to shop there even way back then. Even their own employees were trashing them.
Kroger compared to HEB is like a garage sale for food.
Oh yeah. I do know that.
I didn't know they bought Fred Meyer. 😳
Yes. They did.
Interesting that you say that. Publix has recently opened a store, and building a couple more around Louisville. Their prices are about 25% higher than the other local stores. Also, it could be the neighborhood that they chose, but the clientele is the most obnoxious group that you’ll ever meet. Like the Whole Foods crowd, but SUVs instead of Prius. I’ve shopped at Publix further south and thought they were great. Of course, if you’re traveling, anything nicer than a Pilot is a winner.
We don’t have a lot of options for bigger grocery stores. Kroger, Walmart Aldi. I shop aldi mostly because they have better prices and healthy options but try to shop local small stores when I can. Kroger is high and woke as hell and Walmart…..I’d rather take a punch to the face then step into that place.
I wouldn't necessarily say folding. Around us, they are opening three 37+M$ "Marketplace" stores. One is open, and the second is under construction. Very nice stores, I in all fairness must say. When it all plays out, the 60 closings will probably some of their older, dumpy stores from the '60's and '70's, and ones that are non profitable. Then we will start hearing the BMW'ing about "Food Deserts." And, no, I'm not defending Kroger. I find shopping @ Kroger about as enjoyable as a gasoline enema.
Ah, the inflammatory pre-op for colonoscopy.... 😜
I stopped shopping at Kroger when they made their employees wear rainbow name tags. They had rainbow T-shirts and aprons as well. I was talking to a cashier one day and he said they make all the employees go for monthly health inspections and they were injecting them with the covid vax at the in-house pharmacy.
I stopped a long time ago in the NW.
Go woke, go broke. Bye bye Kroger.
Not quite broke yet. LOL
I enjoy shopping at Krogers. They have a nice selection of food and I dont find them much higher if at all over the local Walmart. The last few years its all expensive relatively speaking no matter where you shop. Also where I'm at in Florida they opened up a huge distribution center. You cant go there and buy stuff only order online. They seem to be very popular with the older folks since they dont need to go shopping for food just do the online ordering and it shows up to your home. There delivery trucks are everywhere.
"... its all expensive ..." Pres says he brought the prices down. Not where I live. They're still going up.
They went up drastically under Bidens rein of terror. I will give the new administration time to get things adjusted. So far they had exceeded my wildest dreams with only more winning to come.
Where I live, too.
Do you read labels? Geoengineered products everywhere in that franchise.
Maybe in Florida they are good. I was in the NW and they were bad.
2731 stores total, and they're closing 60. That's 2.19% of total stores. Wake me up when they close 600.
So not going out yet, just struggling. Got it.
They were over charging consumers
They also support digital price tags. They get what they deserve.
Amen. I don't like them.
