I can hear you on that, but with regard to believing the bible, the only text I take even remotely serious... and with great skepticism, is the words of Christ.

I am not a Christian in the that I dont go to church nor do I read the bible. But I can definitely get behind the story of a man sacrificing himself for the whole of humanity so that they have a chance of eternal salvation.

Its complicated, but if I HAD TO CHOSE a religion, it would definitely be Christianity.

I hated it before, what with all the horrible scandals of all the preists in the catholic sector, and others too, basically getting away with the above crimes of praying upon children.

But I realized that they are not Christ, nor God, and they do not in my mind speak for the Almighty and his followers, just living out their lives, trying to keep it simple and clean, hoping that it all means something in the end, and holding on to the hope that there is something beyond this life.

Personally, in my opinion, there has to be. We exist. This whole thing, experience, hell even God himself, could have not been... it is a scary thought, BUT WE ARE HERE!! That in itself is a YUGE blessing. Therefore, I take a little time to appreciate and thank the God that I hope is there listening.
