Incorrect. We do not have the grids to transition to EV, or the environmental protections in place for EV resources acquisition. If you take a step back you'll see EVs were designed obsolescence from the start. You need better energy storage. Faster, more capacity, more robust design for colder climates, longer distances, lighter weights..... the tech is not there, and the futuristic narrative they give them let's so many gullible people become become much needed guinea pigs or just flat out suckered for old tech.

It's all to make you willing to part with your dollars for a future that's always just out of reach. If you notice, next to zero of these 'ong so advanced!' technologies ever come to pass because they are designed around laboratory conditions and can't expand beyond that.
Good to know on the few watts thing. Too bad a home couldn't get 10k receivers to obtain & utilize that energy. If only we could get that many micro receivers on our roofs & channel the energy into our current outlets.

Which specific area? Generally you will want to look at radiative physics and then convective physics for energy transfer applications. I guess, more specifically.....
Solar radiation is roughly 125 watts per square foot. So if you are transmitting power beyond that in a wireless format, you will cause damage. E.g. running a microwave at 1000 watts would necessitate an energy receiver that is one square foot in size to receive 1000 watts of power, or 8x insolation (caveat here, more below). So if your emitter and your receiver aren't perfectly aligned, you will quickly cook whatever the emitter is pointed at.
Losses - when transmitting electricity through a medium, there are loses.Most mobile (e.g. air, not wire) medium has a huge loss overhead compared to wire that depends specifically on the wavelength of energy and medium mix you are transmitting through.
Wireless transmission has almost any option you can think of. Coherent beams of light, beams of x-rays, beams of microwaves - and so forth. These are all lasers of varying bandwidths. Each bandwidth has to be individually studied to check for what it may interfere with.
Example: Microwaves. This would hit the water in your atmosphere column and heat it up. As the water moved in and out of your beam, it would heat up and move on, then you'd be heating up new water, which would the move on. And so forth. If you pointed your apparatus at a receiver in a place like Louisiana, you'd probably need 4-5x the power of energy transmitted just to keep your microwave running through all of the humidity.
This is why when you see plans of this nature, the receiving station is a complex in the desert that then uses traditional wires/power grid to send energy to individual homes.
Those of us who actually build and maintain civilization will worry about sorting the details out, while hoping against hope that you'll collectively stay TF out of our way.
I read an article posted in GAW (yesterday?) discussing nuclear fusion and how the Germans had attained 43 seconds w/ temps at 72,000,000,000 F… the time attained shattered two previous labs time. So yes, fusion is potentially achievable. The issue to me is how to control it. ⛅️🌤️☀️
How about Toyota’s R&D water engine that was recently unveiled? THAT engine is the ultimate game changer! I don’t have privy access to the design, but I believe it’s a more efficient/effective process of separating H & O2 (which isn’t difficult) and using the two elements to burn with h2o as the by-product. The idea of water as fuel isn’t new, it’s carried a curse (big oil induced suiciding) for those who have ventured into that arena and were making great progress and advancements….

If this technology becomes more viable. You can say bye bye to solar panels and wind turbines. Hydrogen power is more powerful and with green, virtually zero pollution. Not unless they are hybrid with abgass engine. Diesel electric is a very efficient model. Gas electric will work also.
