If I was all by myself, with no family or friends, I would leave in a heartbeat. But for some people (probably most people) they have deep meaningful attachments. They also have jobs, and getting jobs in another state can be very hard for some people. I'm also a third to fourth generation Californian on all four sides of my grandparents, and all of their siblings, and all of their children and grandchildren, etc. My wife also has family ties, and an established career (and very much doesn't want to leave it). California is our home. It's not that they "want to complain." Nothing could be further from the truth. it's that they can't reasonably leave. The cost is too high.
Besides, it's better to fix what's broken then run away from your problems don't you think? And if enough people complain, the problems will get fixed. That's how these things work. We just need to have enough people learn who is really creating the problems, thus the Awakening.
Hang tough. California is going to turn Red again. Despite all the fruits and nuts, CA is still a red state under the surface. It is only blue due to voter fraud. Not sure, but I think we will move the needle in ‘26 and conquer it in’28.
Its so infuriating when I try to tell people that there is more to how prices are set than just who's the president at the time. Its the ultimate litmus test.
I know in Maryland, our blue state legislature tied the gas tax to the inflation rate several years ago. Now they don't have to vote on a raise, the tax will go higher when inflation rises. Mr. President, please keep it down. Jerome Powell isn't helping.
A truly socialist state finds that which their citizens are most dependent upon and enslaves them
A real state makes them more independent.
States funded by general sales taxes- rather than property, income gasoline etc have an incentive to facilitate business and make their local climates as attractive as possible to productive citizenship
It's true. Everything costs more in California. Food, gas, property. Have.you seen how much it costs to live near the beach or a tech center? it's crazy. They have the biggest economy and I know they pay a higher wage, but damn.
Texas, and Mississippi i guess the refineries are saturated around there. Transport cost and what not. Mississippi is very cheap to live in. They probably have huge bank accounts whith all that savings.
obviously it isn't Trump though. POTUS has always had very little effect on gas prices. There are a bunch of other variables to learn about. pretty interesting.
Or taxes placed by states like Washington to have fuel trucked through Washington. I'm not sure what the actual tax amount it but it causes higher fuel prices in states like Idaho. I imagine it affects Alaska as well since we only have one refinery and most our oil is sent out refined and shipped back...
