I live in San Diego. I was outside about 30 minutes ago and I saw a round oblong glow looked like hot plasma in the sky on the horizon. No idea what it was but it’s slowly dissipated. Never seen anything like that in my life.

Two of us saw a similar thing....a plasma ball that had to be the size of a house. It was the same size as the sun that was in another part of the sky and I estimated the distance to be within 2 miles. I know that plasma is a by-product of some cyclotron activity and seemed to come from the direction of one that was nearby. (?) and was floating slowly westward, when it suddenly imploded into thin air and left me with nothing but a story nobody seemed to believe or care about, but it certainly left an impression on us.

I can't say for certain what you saw, but there is an alternative website called Zeta Talk (https://t.me/s/ZetaTalk_Followers) on Telegram that has been recently showing lots of such things from around the world. I don't buy all the "end of the world" chatter there, but it is a good compendium of natural disasters -- earthquakes, volcanoes, landslides, fireballs, and space phenomena -- from everywhere on Earth.

"30 minutes ago" based on you posting this 4 hours ago would be approximately 4:30am Eastern, so 1:30am Pacific(ish), so anyone thinking "the sun setting," it would not be that.
Have you heard any other reports locally? Have any suspicious fires started in the area?
