Solar farms in the middle of fields are stupid, what should instead be done is putting solar panels over all these parking lots and giving the cars some shade at the same time.
I REALLY DO HOPE THAT EVERYONE REALIZES that the current wind farms will NOT be OPERATIONAL much longer due to the maintenance that has to be performed...AND with this wind farm getting the "AHHHH NO, there will NO WIND farm" treatment the others will probably go by the wayside.

I support wind farms as a supplemental energy source. Not because it is "green" or anything, but because the wind is there, and why not capture electricity from the wind? Diversity of energy sources, including nuclear, hydro, geo-thermal, coal, wind, is a good thing.
Have you seen the windmill graveyards? What about the huge number of cubic feet of concrete that is poured into the ground and then leeches whatever chemicals out into the ground water? Since the energy can’t be stored and must go directly into the grid, sometimes it becomes a nightmare for the station that accepts the power-way too much coming in, must slow the internal energy turbine source, wind dies or shifts and amount of energy coming in slows, internal energy turbine source must ratchet it up- not always easy to do.
Indeed. I couldn't agree more. Wind-powered generators are most effective when used on a very small scale to charge batteries. A guy in Wales constructed his own WPG for his farm. He carved the sails out of wood.
Why does a wind farm, proposed to be located on land in a state of the Union, require permission from federal employees? This is a 10th amendment issue.

Wind is only good in small scale off grid systems. Mainly sail boats. The price of a wind turbine compared to solar is insane.
