I can remember growing up that my mother would avoid cotton at all costs because it shrunk in the wash and came out all wrinkled. Now, I hardly wear anything else, but cotton. I'll never go back to synthetics. They feel so unnatural on the skin.
Good luck finding 100% cotton anything unless you can find vintage clothes. Even dish towels that are listed as 100% cotton can’t be 💯 they don’t absorb water. Unless it’s the microplastic in water getting in the towels during washing. I don’t even know if that’s possible. I’m aware there are some new clothing brands you can get 💯 cotton. They are way out of my price range. I’ve tried to figure out why cotton has become non existent. I keep finding articles saying cotton costs too much to process. This has got to be BS. If they can make fabric from bamboo it can’t be that costly to make cotton fabric. I personally believe it’s more about control. Cotton has always been a big crop in the southern USA, still grown today but nothing like in decades past. I’d love to find a graphic tshirt that last for decades. I still have some denim from the 80s & wish I saved those old Levi’s. Also keep in mind we have more synthetic materials in our homes than ever before. I don’t remember the percentages on this. You have considerably less time today than 10-20 years ago to get out of a house fire. Because clothes, carpets, furniture, decor is mostly synthetic materials. Even the modern “wood” furniture isn’t real wood. It’s most likely saw dust and glued wood fragments. Just another reason to buy vintage wood furniture. I don’t know who to blame. Cheap labor, greed, overseas manufacturing, push for environmental protection, or all the above.
I’m dying 😆 Sounds like we grew up in the same era. Everything went in the toilet after the 80s. I listen to more dead people’s music than the living. My give a damn officially left at age 38, I’m 58. Was going through a lot of mess with my parents & health. I finally said F it all. My priorities were God, husband, daughter & pets. I’m not rude to anyone but I don’t care if in laws, fam or old friends approve of me or not. When I stopped working I sold all my dress clothes. Year round it’s shorts, flip flops, tanks & tees. I own one pair of sneakers & sandals for walking, cowboy boots, one pair of jeans & a couple dresses. Maybe about 4 pair of flip flops in different colors. If I’m home I’m usually in a tshirt sleep shirt (just because it’s comfortable) & barefoot, NOT & pregnant🤣 I never saw a problem with that line, women should be in the kitchen barefoot & pregnant. I would have more if we could have.
My husband has finally chilled out like me. I live in the country & the only people near me is my dad, brother & daughter’s fam. I don’t answer the door flashing anyone but I don’t have an issue with being comfortable in your home. Hell, I don’t answer the door anyway unless it’s family. Dang, I wish I had some old tshirts from 70/80s bands. I do have some great soft Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville Tshirts, wish I had bought more. They are so comfy. Those of us born before 1980 lived in last years of the promised land (America).
Been hoarding all the old cotton shirts from the 90s at the thrift shops for years now... Recently I got into linen, which I love. I have read that energetically, linen and cotton is the best for you and increases your health. Synthetics decrease your energy, as do some blends of certain materials. I cannot recall if it has to do with the chemicals used to process certain synthetics, like viscose/bamboo, for example, is pretty processed. Wish I had time to find a link for you, but I am sure you guys can do some research on your own if you are interested on this topic.
I bought some linen shirts not long ago, most comfortable shirts I own, I recommend them. Been looking into linen sheets, a bit pricey but I'll have some soon.
It's difficult to find decent looking cotton clothing in stores, and of course the cost is far more than the polyester/acrylic crap on the racks. I make it a point write to our agricultural commissioner and ask him to push the important of growing cotton in our state. The more we put them on the spot on their social media pages and sending countless emails to their offices and such eventually, they are bound to have to address it. As far as organic products in our grocery stores, I round up my friends and we each send feedback to our local grocery store on which products are less toxic and we would like to see our store honor healtheir choices for their store.
I'm in the process of replacing my entire wardrobe with 100% cotton. It's trickier to wash, but it really does feel amazing on the skin. Try on a cotton shirt and then try one of these mixed chemical shirts and you can feel the difference. The skin absorbes that crap especially when you sweat
Well . . . Damn.

The libtards should be happy you're using solar drying.
I'm not even going to ask what you mean by a "recreational proctologist." Just. not. going. there. 😆
Cheers to you also, sir. I enjoy your late-night ramblings.

That reminds me...I've got about a half dozen pairs to send in.

Yeah, ya gotta use plastic for the "no iron" fabrics I suppose!
This one has been hard for me to reverse, I love all my synthetic clothes, then I learn my synthetic clothes are also trying to kill me. Ugh!

Please share some brand names. I try searching but the dang algorithm only wants us shopping at Walmart & Amazon.
Kek. That's where I've been buying mine 😶
Here's a list, I asked AI for some brands https://www.thegoodtrade.com/features/organic-clothing-brands/
Thanks so much😊
