The money from USA must be turned off - this much is being signalled from multiple mouths in the Trump admin. The deep money-vortex is threatening to swallow and destroy the nation. I think the problem is: that there needs to be a critical mass of determined and loud peace-niks inside Congress to shut off the spigot, and many in those hot-seats are COINING it- so we are kind of "have to decide how to do this". And that takes time. It seems that these days protests just get ignored and funnelled into kotels by police escorts. Fun for a day, as long as no-one is arrested. LOL, Who cares.

However, I don't even think Germany has the muscle to stand up by itself, because they are de-industrializing - exactly the opposite trend of what you do before declaring war. One needs the steel and high-tech factories to expand, and then think of supply lines, troop supplies, food etc. That military planning stuff takes years. And, ideally, one should do that in productive years. But hey, Germany had to be Multi-kulti to be able to eat kebabs in the street. And that costs MOAR money. So, in the effort to look nice, herself the Bear-hunter, woman-pussy inspector Ursula, before she became the Wicked Witch of the West, de-funded the German military, as a mark of efficiency. After all, the best input/output ratio one can achieve is 100% efficiency - when the machine is not running.

The materiel will take years to build and stockpile (and show me the equipment that cannot burn within twenty minutes of presenting itself to Russian surveillance?). So, to akshully attack Russia (I don't wanna), one needs to add a few more years for research and development, because the NATO MIC has fallen behind by at least twenty years. They are still fighting 90's wars, with crappy equipment, and a crappy hierarchy full of Generals, who have NEVER FOUGHT A WAR, but sure know how to bark.
