I thought the dims wanted to release
They wanted to release their phony information (similar to the Steele Dossier hoax) but Trump called their bluff and ordered the release of the Grand Jury documents (the actual, real information) so then the Dems panicked and had their judges block the release.
They want funding for Ukraine more…means more money for them

Don’t get excited. It was a democrat ploy. Tied it to bad defense budget. They thought they would make big points off it, but the assassination put it into the noise.

It's literally THE 2026 defense budget bill that has to pass. The amendment only added a demand to release the Epstein files.

How is anyone against this?
If they get released too early, their effect as an instrument of evidence is neutralized. I understand the "delay" and support it. They'll be very important in the near future, when the indictments and arrests start.
Most of the bluster and fights on the floor are for fund raising. They also convinced their voters that Trump had something to hide.
Did they? Most major media sites don't actually link to the bill.
One of them claimed it was the national defense authorization act. A 1,400 page document that doesn't contain the word "Epstein" anywhere in it but god knows what it does authorize. So I had to track the amendment down through the actual government website. And it has had four actions.
And that is pretty confusing.

To "table something" means to postpone a discussion or action on a motion or item, typically in a meeting, to a later time. So noone actually voted no on this thing.
You don't need a filibuster vote today to keep the Democrats from blocking the NCAA if the topic is scheduled for later.

And let's see if the Democrats have the balls on them to submit the so called Epstein bill on its own instead of a PR stunt to distract from their latest NCAA changes and assassination of Kirk.
It's THE annual defense authorization bill. It pays for and allows the military to operate for the next year. It has to and will pass.

All but two republicans voted against it.
Looks like they will get a shot at this soon with the House discharge bill that currently needs one more signature to outnumber the all but four republicans against it.
