Flood prevention, abortion pills and ivermectin: Gov. Abbott signs 13 bills into law, vetoes one | Houston Public Media
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott took action on 14 bills Wednesday, signing all but one into law. Among those signed were measures aimed at increasing access to ivermectin and allowing private citizens to sue out-of-state abortion pill prescribers.
I realized that I have Rosacea type 2. Years and years of thinking that I had acne prone skin. Saw a dermatologist once and she tried to get me on Acutane. Doing some of my own research online 2 months ago, I ran across symptoms of Rosacea Type 2. My face was NO where near as bad as what I saw online but enough of the symptoms lined up. 1%Ivermectin is the treatment but costs an arm and leg. Horse paste to the rescue. That and a bar of Joesoef sulfur soap and Im clear.
It’s a miracle drug!
Wow. I use the soap but how do you use the ivermectin?
Before I go to bed, i just wash my face and then rub the apple flavored paste on my entire face.
I do this once every 2 to 3 days.
Rosacea type 2 is caused by mites. It kills the mites.
You don't have a dog do you.
I do
Awesome!!! And really can’t hurt unless dosing by the bucketful.
I believe POTUS has rosacea also...
Just take horse paste, you dose it per weight anyway.
That’s what I just said… get it at the co-op, duh.
Very nice.
Still waiting for Oklahoma.
In Arkansas, Ivermectin is already legal for OTC sales.
In Louisiana, it's legal, but kept behind the pharmacist counter. You have to ask for it, and may have to answer a question or two before you can get the Ivermectin.
In Texas, the new law makes it OTC, without questioning by a pharmacist and without Ivermectin being kept behind the counter.
If you're in Oklahoma, maybe it's time for a short road trip.
Yes if I run out. Our legislature is out of session. They only meet for a few months.
Come on down, across the Red River (anytime but during the Red River Shootout). Screw the corporate wussy name(s)...
Side note - for almost 5 years (when I lived in Central Texas near Austin) I worked near Columbia MO. I drove back and forth every weekend. Brutal. Winter sucked if it snowed because certain counties (run by different tribes) had different ideas of road snow removal. Some roads were perfectly clean and dry. Some were pure white snow with tire tracks. The mile or so before and after crossing a county line could be terrifying if you missed the county line sign.
To be fair - I will say I once hit a window-unit air conditioner in the middle of my lane in a 75mph stretch with 5 lanes near Dallas on I-35. I'd bet it fell off the back of a loaded Mexican pickup truck that just left an auction and was headed back down to Mexico (VERY common). We have our issues too.
I know all about the caravans of used cars pulling trailers of used appliances. They don't have to pay tax on any vehical over 10 years old. You see a lot of them around the holidays.
What are the other states that’s it’s available OTC?
States that have legalized OTC ivermectin include:
Tennessee: Was the first state to pass a law allowing OTC ivermectin for human use in 2022. Have to fill out questionnaire and they will dispense according to weight. Arkansas: Enacted its law in March 2025. Idaho: Passed its legislation in April 2025. Louisiana: Its law went into effect in June 2025. It is stricter than the others, requiring pharmacists to provide a risk assessment and information to patients before dispensing. Texas: The Texas House and Senate approved legislation in August 2025 to allow OTC sales. The bill was sent to the governor, who just signed it. You can get it from Amazon with a prescription, but it expensive. Less if your insurance will approve it, but none will at the moment.
Unfortunately, none that I know of will sell to out of state.
Thanks fren!!! Good to know info!
Why a 10-11 week delay?
Texas Constitution specifies that with few exceptions, new legislation takes effect 90 days after adjournment of the Legislative Session. The authors of the Constitution did not trust government and erected roadblocks at almost every turn. For the most part this has worked out quite well.
unironically a good example of why people want to simply "legalize all drugs" so you dont have to wait for this potentially life saving medicine being kept from you "for your safety"
Thank you for posting this H2O! I called Abbot's office last week to find out when he was going to sign the bill and was going to call again this week...you saved me the trouble. Can't wait for OTC to start!.
Should be the 50th state
Why not immediately?
I always bought it at the local co-op; no script needed. Do not all the states sell it at co-op’s?
Not the pills
