Leucovorin has been known to affect various brain or spinal diseases for 80 years. It's a common chemical, a natural derivative of formic acid (vitamin B9). I need to dig into it more, but if it's uses include that area of research, and it hasn't been used for autism before, why is that coming to the medical purview now?

Then, more recently, I have been thinking autism might possibly be an experiment (or developed into that by accident and then on purpose) in telepathy (see The Telepathy Tapes), since the "locked in-ness" of autism may be a consequence of "alternate forms of communication," and autism has been increasing substantially over the recent decades (a large scale "clinical trial").
Whatever the reason, this simple, cheap, easy drug, with numerous trials in related issues, gives substantial evidence that autism treatments have been purposefully suppressed (if this anecdote can be corroborated).
I'm for the accident theory. Mostly because my son is likely autistic because if he hadn't overcome a tremendous fever (107 and rising before we went to the hospital) he'd have been another SIDS statistic. But also because it seems to be multi-factorial. As far as telepathy and other interesting abilities/outcomes, I chalk it up to the brain developing in new directions when the standard doors are closed, like how blind people develop extraordinary hearing, etc.

If it is true that there are such abilities, I think then what you've said is almost certainly true, but you are perhaps missing an important point.
You don't have to be blind to have extraordinary hearing. It just helps. There is incentive, both inherent and trainable reasons for the body and mind to develop better hearing if sight impaired.
Similarly, if there is another path, a non-verbal path, for us to communicate with each other if we are "communication impaired," there are almost certainly both inborn inherent and trainable paths for all of us, there just isn't sufficient incentive or training to do so.

If I were to get a Folinic Acid supplement for my almost 9 year old "dog" who weighs approx 55-60lbs, would he get one tablet and the body would process the rest out in his urine or would there be anything I should be worried about?

A few people had remarkable results, a few said nothing significant but no harm. One lady (the only negative I saw) reported that it messed up her son, made him very irritable. Most were doing 25mg/day, or 2mg/kg. One mom who was seeing great improvements was giving 50mg. A number started with smaller doses. Most of them used a liquid form measured with a dropper. Some had pills that they crushed to mix with food. Had good links to non prescription folinic acid as well. Hope that helps.
There's also a doctor in Phoenix (Dr Russel Frye? Something close to that) that has testimonials on his website. Obviously the testimonies are great, but he only encourages you to call for an appointment and doesn't include dosing. But the Reddit threads seemed pretty good.
