My parents were immigrants in the 1950s. In order to stay in the US they had to have a sponsor. That sponsor was financially responsible for the immigrant they sponsored. If the sponsor was no longer able to be financially responsible for the immigrant the immigrant was returned to the country they came from. This was set up to ensure that the responsibility for the immigrant's well-being was with a private sponsor and not the taxpayer. We follow that and this whole problem goes away. Everything else is just smoke and mirrors

When your first action in a new country is to sneak in without permission, you are revealing your character: you are a criminal. If you are willing to sneak into America without permission, you are capable of more and worse criminal acts.
They are not migrants or undocumented or unfortunates seeking better life: they are CRIMINALS!
Invaders
Correct
Many things were done in the 50s with the most basic common sense, cumulating in the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 (The McCarran-Walter Act).
1952 McCarran-Walter Act
Then in the 60s, the (D)ems changed the law.
The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 (Hart-Celler Act) was the beginning of the end. It ended the country quota system, replacing it with a 'family and skilled labor' componets. In practice, we ended up with chain migration and H1Bs, among other nonsense.

The illegal judiciary temper tantrums playing out for the last six months are nothing more than theatre for the masses. The law is very clear what an illegal can, and cannot do. The difference now, is we have a President willing to push the law down their throats.

I hope it's enough to win.
Yes, I was here when those thing happened -- and Teddy Kennedy was a big supporter of them.
Anyone who was opposed to Hart-Celler was called a Racist.
Illegal aliens*
No, illegal criminals
Call the illegals fascist alien immigrants.
Immigrants assimilate into a culture. Invaders don't.
Correct and I came legally had to wait 11 years in my country until US immigration services told me I could be a resident and had pass for many months of finger prints paper work, interviews and 6 years after to become US citizen so total practically 16-17 years, so illegals are criminals period
Th same was true for my mother, when her parents immigrated they had a sponsor, and they would be deported if they used any govt services.
Yup, it is still the law!
Amen.
This is a great idea and allows citizens to show personal generosity and compassion, a trait that the left say they desire. It shows that Americans have more character than the oversimplified Marxist idea of oppressed/oppressor. I would be interested to see if the Dems would support it, but have my doubts, because I’m not sure their motivation is compassion, at least in the case of the politicians.
