I'm firmly in trust mode, but I can't say that buying groceries has been super fun. As I recall, at one point, Trump said that it's going to be a little painful at first. That seems to be where we're at now, because some of the things I buy have gone up in actual dollars per item. It's a study in keeping the faith while continuing to live in some form of survival mode or other.
Dang...I've seriously been living my life for 15 years looking for and working towards things getting better. Getting by but not thriving, living as much under the radar as possible. We truly are so close, and we clearly aren't giving up because it's hard to keep waiting. All we need to do is look at all that's been going on globally to take heart...the question is then: when does all of this reach We the People? It's the Sixty Four Thousand Dollar Question.
You speak for me, Bloggerchick. A few grocery items have gone down, but not many. Gas has gone down ($3,09 in my area), but it doesn't seem to be affecting the price of anything else.
The logical part of me says that with all the actions the DJT administration has taken, the cost of living has to drop at some point. But while we're hanging on, the recurring question is always "When?"
ANSWER: 2-3 months from now. Crude is at $57.25 per barrel and headed to $45-55 per barrel. It takes 2-3 months for drop in oil price to propagate into refined fuels and then transport/product costs.
By 20JAN2026 you will see obvious price drops nearly everywhere. 12 month turnaround is pretty good considering all the attempted sabotage going on.

Gas in my County in Michigan went from 3.29-3.39, where it had been for at least a year, to 2.69 overnight.
The surrounding Counties had been at 2.79 for 3 or more weeks already.

Three pounds of ground beef in Michigan was 25 bucks yesterday. And the slaughter and butchering of my Black Angus has been pushed back to January.
DOJ has opened criminal case into the beef processing cartel now (it might turn into RICO and/or antitrust). It appears to be a REPLAY from 04JUN2020: https://www.fooddive.com/news/report-4-major-meatpackers-subpoenaed-in-doj-antitrust-investigation/579266/
They have also indicted (or are about to) for fraud several executives from the company that was driving up egg prices in 2024 from what I understand. Price-fixing investigation from March 2025: https://www.politico.com/news/2025/03/07/doj-investigation-egg-price-fixing-bird-flu-00218785
That's great news, another thing I wish they would look into is auto insurance,
