People knew way before then that there was crap going on. My mom has repeatedly told us how everyone knew back in the day that j. FK was shot by the CIA.
They weren't as good about hiding their disdain for people as they are today.
In 1971 I read a book by a man named Gary Allen called None Dare Call it Conspiracy. Red pill book I read at the age of 21. More relevant today than it was back then. I highly recommend it for your Fall reading list.
Was George H.W.Bush, one of the 150 most powerful in the world that meant in secret in Germany to plot the fake of billions, who put the "most evil" of them all, his son George W Bush, president?
