As it stands, today, the two - the government of Venezuela and the Cartel - are inseparable. You war against one of them? You war against both of them.
I recall Trump saying that if the Iranians wanted regime change, they'd have to initiate it. The reverse course for Venezuela doesn't make a bit of sense to me.
While writing a comment for another post, I realized that action in Venezuela and the cartel is part of the wider War on Drugs declared by Richard Nixon back in 1971. Trump is clearly fighting an existing war.
I appreciate this contextual very much, Jscholl17. It gives me some solace about what, on the surface, appears to be just another globalist fever dream come real.
You think the Globalists want President Trump to march into another country and take out the drug trade? Just watch, If they go into Venezuela to extract their President, the UN will likely attack the US military.
So, the solution is to sit back and do nothing? I trust Trump. He knows what he is doing and how hard he can push to get the desired results. He has intelligence that we are not privy to. I gauge the seriousness of the situation based upon Trump's reactions to it. This is a much larger iceberg than what if appears.
I really don't think most of the American people are going to disagree with what Trump is doing beyond the usual cast of leftist Trump hating characters that would rather see the country destroyed - which is why we are in this situation. This is not an action against Venezuela per se, but against the DS financial and trafficking networks that use Venezuela as a base for global operations. Election interference is but one.
Retribution? No. Regime change? Yes. There WILL be regime change, with or without land strikes. CIA SOG has already been there and set the stage. There will be an "incident" and shortly thereafter we will have the leader we want there. Why? I think the core reason is oil and natural resources. How msm or the public face of the admin will spin it I don't know but I'm sure they will. I also don't think anybody cares if Maduro is alive or dead, so long as he is no longer in control. For him to lose control the cartels (funding) has to end.
Exactly. This is a much bigger picture than just Venezuela. It's transnational criminal cartels and networks that engage in all manner of human misery for money and power.
This is going to be a war against the cartel strongholds, not Venezuela. That's my take.

I heard Venezuela sent jets out to attack a smuggling plane the other day.
I don't think it's as simple as it looks. I read it that Maduro's strings have been cut and he can work with Trump now and clear out the cartels.
That would be a white hat kind of move.

Remember the 2020 election steal. Venezuela was part of the cause.
I'm all for transparency and getting to the bottom of the Steal.
This? This looks like retribution.
All it will take is one photo of a dead Venezuelan kid from one of our strikes, and Trump is TOAST.

Actually the footage of the dead Venezuelan kid could help President Trump in the end.

The government and the cartels are the same thing.
That's why you have to cut the strings.

I believe they are all being taken out simultaneously in south america.
