Years ago in the early 90's I had a flight scheduled and when I found out the equipment was a DC-10 (same aircraft basically) I canceled my flight and was rebooked on a L-1011 which was the most over built airliner in history. I would NEVER fly on a DC-10 / MD-11 after all the accidents and the accident in Iowa was still fresh in my mind.
Cargo airline : Import the third world , get third world repairs.
I believe it was that was the engine that they were working on before the flight.
Hey Joe, I got a couple of bolts left over. Way to be efficient.
I've got the feeling that this was an incompetence thing. The incompetence problem causes even more harm than corruption.
They want you to think incompetence they want you to think people are stupid it’s not and they aren’t. This was done on purpose.
Could be. But what is the motive?
So they can print articles about the engines coming off of team brown shirt. Or maybe it's about the brown pants?
Better call an MD (11)
EDIT: Hey, wasn't the most favored nation announcement scheduled for 11? Better call an MD.
EDIT: I guess losing an engine is some sorta "weight loss"...
Frankly, the MD-11 should have been pulled from service years ago.
Ditto. I'd feel safer in an overloaded DC8 than an empty MD11.

What was on this plane they didn’t want to get to it’s destination.
Shouldn't the pilot have noticed some vibration during idle/throttle-up?
The first line:
That'd be my first guess but who knows, maybe the Epstien list was in the cargo.
They probably saw the check-engine light and said “ wonder what that means?”
