Iran president says capital move now a necessity as water crisis deepens
Iran’s capital must be moved because the country “no longer has a choice,” President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Thursday in remarks carried by state media, warning that severe ecological strain has made Tehran impossible to sustain.
Act of God or DARPA.
Since Tehran has only had 1.1mm of moisture this fall, not even the thickness of a fingernail, perhaps it IS an act of God. It may be a sign that God is displeased and has run out of patience.
The Bible; Zechariah 10:1 tells people to ask the LORD for rain in the springtime, because its the LORD who makes the storm clouds and gives showers of rain to all people, resulting in crops in the field.
The promise of rain is God’s covenant with His people. Deuteronomy 11:14 states that God will give rain in its season—both early and late—so that the land yields its produce. Leviticus 26:4 and Deuteronomy 28:12 say that God will send rain in season, ensuring rich harvests and prosperity.
Voice of the Martyrs has reported a significant conversation to Christianity with the modern day Persians. God may be sending a message here.
1.1mm all year.
I’m starting to feel really comfy, lounging here in rainy Ireland. Two days ago the rain was like 1.1mm per second.
Iran is in a severe drought. They badly need rains that usually start in late November, but even that won't be enough. Mismanagement of water and government corruption is to blame, as is lack of rainfall.
More than 50 days have passed since the start of Iran’s rainy season and more than 20 provinces have not yet had a drop. The number of dams that have less than 5% of their reservoir capacity had increased from eight to 32. 20 dams in Iran have zero water, totally dry.
In Tehran, only 1mm of rain has fallen this year, a once-in-a-century event (the capital’s average annual rainfall between 1991 and 2000 was 350mm, or roughly 12"). All this comes on top of five previous years of drought. The second half of November is normally the snow season in the capital. Snow cover has decreased by 98.6% nationwide compared with the same point last year.
Imagine having to abandon a city of over 9 Million people due to no water. It's getting to that point. Tehran may be the first major world city to evacuate, with climate refugees moving where they can.
Hahahaha - Climate Refugees- as if climate change was responsible for bad management of the water system and lack of reservoirs.
More turd world examples of breeding beyond resources.
One conspiracy theory in Iran is that someone is tampering with the weather.
According to Iran’s Meteorological Organization, as of November 3, the national average rainfall stood at just 2.3 millimeters—81% below the long-term mean. In Tehran, precipitation measured only 1.1 millimeters, compared to a historical average of 20.3 millimeters—a drop of nearly 95%. In simple terms, Iran’s autumn has passed almost entirely without rain.
A 50-year analysis of Iran’s weather shows steadily declining rainfall trends. This isn't just a 1 or 2 year event, but more like a long term shift. Iran’s annual precipitation has fallen from around 320 millimeters in the 1970s to less than 250 mm since 2010. Foreign powers are not altering Iran’s weather. Cloud seeding won't help either, because there has to be some moisture available for that.
If something doesn't change drastically and soon, expect to see the Capitol city of Tehran shrink to less than 20% of it's current population and the government needing to relocate to Southeastern Iran.
I'll drink to that!
Just think of all the water works it could have built with the money spent on the bomb. Even diverting a few scientists and engineers might have helped. Persians were quite bright at one time. Inbreeding?
I had that thought. Iran produced and was shooting thousands of missiles and drones into Israel just 6 months ago. Iran built attack boats for the Persian Gulf and has been supplying weapons to the Houthi rebels and to Venezuela. They have been causing all sorts of problems in Syria, Iraq, etc... but the one thing they haven't done is fixed their own problems.
The average Tehran resident uses 325 liters of water (86 gallons) per day. Tap water consumption in the country is 70% over and above the global average. Tehran also loses nearly 30% of it's water due to pipeline leaks.
Overusage of water, using water for industry, building useless dams... they are a mess. When you have scarcity and can't afford to make stupid decisions... and yet still make stupid decisions... 🙄 it can cost everything.
China has plenty get some from them....
For a small fee, we could chemtrail then Haarp them and provide a "once in 100-years" monsoon season.
Biden would have let them set up a new capital, here, and bring all their people.
OP doesn't have anything to do with this missing water, does he? What's in a name?
Watch the water (that isn't there)?
