The Bears have been playing this “we’re moving unless we get what we want” game for years. They expect taxpayers to give them money to buy a stadium and fat boy Pritzker is all for it. It makes me so pissed.
They are a private company, worth billions and owned by billionaires. Why do we citizens have to pay a penny for their business? I have a business in illinois, no government has ever given me a damn thing, but the greedy pricks have bled me dry taxing the hell out of me.
Such bullshit. The Bears can go to hell for all I care.
That may be so, but when you have a with over $250 Billion in long-term liabilities, already bleeding working citizens dry with taxes, the idea of spending public dollars on a football stadium a big "fuck you" to all. I say let them go to Indiana, who cares? The madness has to stop somewhere.
I'm a fan of the Chicago Bears and I honestly think Kevin Warren, the president and CEO of the Chicago Bears, are using Gary, Indiana as leverage to force Chicago to allow them to stay in Chicago and not pay 1 billion dollars in taxes on a yearly basis (I believe).
I don't think a move to NW Indiana will happen but it will be a sad day for Chicago if that truly happens. Arlington Heights, a suburb northwest of Chicago, seems to not be happening as that's the location Warren was aiming for.
The stadium, Soldier Field, is one of the smallest stadiums in the world as it was built in 1924 and named after the soldiers who died in World War I because George "Papa" Halas, the primary owner of the Bears, served in both World War I and II, in the Navy. It cost $13 million at the time of construction and yeah, they didn't plan for expansion or more fans lol.
Because Soldier Field is a very old stadium, it also came with a long history of hosting a lot of games like the Army-Navy game back in 1926 and many more, it is now part of Chicago History and cannot be touched or altered in any way, which makes expansion impossible, hence the want/need to move elsewhere so they can build a brand new stadium to accommodate more fans.
I know at the moment, Chicago sucks, thanks to stupid, flawed politics, stemming from the Daley years and idiots like Obummer, Emanuel, JB Pritzker, Lori Lightfoot and Brandon Johnson screwing up Chicago, but Chicago Bears has one of the longest history in the NFL as well as the city of Chicago. I truly hope President Trump will fix America (I know he already is and it's currently a WIP project and a long one at that!) and restore America and historical towns and cities back to their former glory.
Oh yeah, that's why I mentioned the Daley years. Probably longer before the Daley years, but I remember reading an article saying that Richard J. Daley even admitted to knowing the mayoral elections were rigged in his favor. Everyone knew and they shrugged. There were rumors that he also helped JFK win the presidential election through rigging.
The last time Chicago had a Republican mayor was William Hale Thompson, known as "Big Bill" and his term ended in 1931. It has been Demonrats ever since. He kind of was Trump back then, with the overuse of "offensive, racial slurs" toward people he didn't agree with, although President Trump didn't use racial slurs obviously.
No doubt he was voted out because he had big balls and was attacking people he disagreed with over and over. He also wanted to clean up Chicago and kick Democrats out for corrupting Chicago, and wanted to restore education back to real education or the George Washington education, not the "democrat" version of education.
Sounds like Trump, eh?
But unfortunately (but probably just another lie propagated by the fake news), Al Capone openly supported Thompson and contributed to his campaign, despite Thompson saying he want to clean up Chicago and kick out the mafia.
Who knows, seeing how everything has been run by Demonrats ever since and they could be 1984'ing everything.
What I read too. Also side note as a University of Washington fan for college football I am glad Rome Odunze has been playing well for you guys. Not much of a NFL fan but I like to keep tabs on former UW players.
Lol, Gary, Indiana or "East Chicago" (even though there's already a town named East Chicago in Indiana, but Gary has always been known as East Chicago cuz it's a ghetto town.)
I once had to drive to college in NY and I took 80/90. Drove past a couple of low-rider cars in Gary and there were gangbangers driving, with double bandannas, one covering the nose down and one covering the head. Only the eyes were visible. Of course, I didn't look into his direction as I passed him cuz that's how you get shot at for "checkin' them out".
A.I. could do a better job running the City of Chicago.
"Hey AI, how do we solve the violent crime problem in Chicago?"
...thinking....
"You eliminate all those doing those violent crimes."
"Ok. What do you mean by 'eliminate'?"
...thinking....
"Look here pal, you humans already know the answer, you're just too big a bunch of pussies to take care of it."
For that one, I'd be in support of AI!
Of course.
Team GAW would do an Excellent job.
Of course.
Sub 70 IQ idiot.
Howls.

They are not stupid; I am sorry to tell you. It's evil and lots of planning.

All the way back that far. Wow.

'31 was the year Capon was tried and went to prison.

Im a lifelong Giants fan 40+ years. I enjoy the NFL though especially the old stadiums.
The Bears destroyed soldier field when they put a spaceship inside of the original structure in the early 2000's.
I heard to Indiana. Rename to 'Hoosyer Muslum'

They bought Arlington Racetrack years ago. This has been in the works for years.
The mindset of liberals, "we own you" - until reality enters the room.
