I have been pushing this even before Trump started. I spent a little time at the Danish embassy talking about how we could help them with their Greenland security problems and to help their search and rescue as a byproduct. They never got around to buying anything, but it got me thinking. We could easily wipe out the entire debt of Denmark with a deal to buy Greenland. I spent a few weeks in Denmark; good people.

Just a word or caution, if Greenland and the western provinces of Canada join the US how much of a swing will it be in favor of [D]'s? Aren't these places generally seen as more liberal than the US?
