So Americans were pissed at the Chicks for speaking down on Baby Bush. Now, twenty two years later after finding out how evil he really was it seems the Chicks were correct in their disapproval. I think folks need to reevaluate their disdain for the Chicks. They were speaking truth to power and the media made a big deal out of it in order to protect Bush.

When I was a young adult we used to say "you're THIS political party but I'm THAT political party. Where are we going for lunch?"
Now it's "I have THIS opinion but you have THAT opinion?! The only way that's possible for you to have an opposing viewpoint on any topic is because you're incredibly stupid! If you were smart you would agree with me 100%!"
There is no "meeting half way" anymore. There is no "let me hear your side of it...".
We have all chosen a side and we are sticking to our side without compromise. Because WE ARE RIGHT! And nobody else will tell us otherwise.
Because if we had amicable conversations we might have to admit that we were wrong about some things and the other side would have to admit that they were wrong about some things. But neither side wants to do that.
So we stand divided.
And the ruling class loves that about us.

What you are attempting is the "All or nothing" falacy. Also, when you are right you shouldn't need to compromise. The side that is wrong needs to compromise and come to your side.
