The cartels were primarily funded and coordinated out of Venezuela. The large cartels hold more influence on the U.S. and State governments than nearly every other country on the planet.
Venezuela is the hub of the Western voter fraud complex. Dominion is technically based out of Venezuela (the owners/controllers of course are primarily in Europe).
President Trump just dealt a body blow to some of the most powerful NGO's on the planet (the Cartels) and possibly a death blow to the western voter fraud complex.
Trump has never been a "war on drugs" guy. He was blowing up narco boats to destroy their revenue stream and force them to make mistakes.
Hopefully this doesn't involve a 150,000 man occupation transition force but that country is so corrupt it will need yet another TEAM AMERICA World Police Force.
If/When Maduro confessees to rigging elections like 2020 (and all priors) ill believe it was worth the effort
I'd like to add that nature abhors a vacuum. Someone worse could replace Maduro. We need to be there to ensure that someone who at least (and most likely) has US interests best in mind and has the best interests of Venezuelans in mind as well. This is a regime change operation at its core.

Remember, the dominion voting system came from Venezuela. That needs to be taken care of. Leaving Venezuela to "take care" of its problems will only make things worse. Technically, Maduro's people are still in power. That needs to be taken care of. They won't leave if we leave. And believe it or not, they will strike back if they are given the chance.
I would be wholly satisfied with someone with only Venezuela's interests in mind. I don't need them to care about our interests. If they're rational and care about their own interests they'll work rational deals with us that benefit us both. The problem is when a global Luciferian syndicate gets involved who does nothing for the benefit of anybody anywhere as a matter of religious principle in service of their bloodthirsty god. It's them I think we're boxing out until the time is right in this case. And I'm ok with that.
