I’ve been thinking about this for a while. We’re supposed to be a source of information and education for normies. And I know at this point it is probably more a matter of doing so once the ball really drops but I do still try to educate people in small ways along the way but I’ve decided I just can’t with these people anymore.
Yesterday an acquaintance on Facebook had a post about Trump‘s invasion of Venezuela and how we were stealing all the oil and that kind of stuff. Trying to be simple but informative. I made a few very quick and succinct points and wrapped up by saying if your new sources are telling you this is a bad thing, you need to find new news sources. He responded by clipping text about the “oil theft” from the same lefty new source that he included the first time. 🤦♂️
And then, watching all the lefties lose their head about Minneapolis made me realize there is no way to even begin to try to have a conversation because they have so many biases, but then I saw this. Which is a perfect summation of where we’re at with the lefties’s mind.

(if you don’t want to watch Facebook, it’s a guy explaining how conservatives heard about the shooting, thought about their assumptions they immediately made about the shooting, and then went to watch video and different angles and accounts of what happened to see what the true story is. Then, when the lefty hears the same news, they have their preconceived notions, and they then actively work to protect those, and avoid and ignore anything that contradicts their preconceived notions.)
Which brings me around to throw my hands up and saying you can’t try to educate somebody who willfully wants to be ignorant and misinformed. I would say it’s like arguing with a brick wall, but at least a brick wall is consistent. It’s like trying to argue with a tornado. And while I’ll be there for people who are confused later and ask questions I’m done trying to educate people because they just don’t want to be educated.
On a different note, the movie is really great! I keep thinking is this the event that leads to the riots that leads to the National Guard being deployed? I think we’re so close!
You can't have a conversation based on facts and logic with someone who's "truth" is determined by feelings.

Hang in there, fren. I'm in a very similar situation with my pet normies. We'll probably have to wait until events become so alarmingly obvious that the normies can no longer refuse to acknowledge that "The Plan"is unfolding.
Then we become interpreters to explain these events and how these events affect their lives.
It can be very frustrating, but we're been in this game long enough to know we have to be calm and patient to shepherd these lost souls through the turmoil.

I'm with you on this post, it's exhausting. Willful ignorance has taken over society now a days, I got off facebook a few years ago. I've gotten to where "if you don't know, your problem". I've awakened who matter to me for the most part, some that matter deleted me from their social media and I'm good with it, maybe that part of family isn't important to my life and I realized quickly they weren't.
I only discuss politics with family and friends that listen these days, everyone else are on their own at this point for me.
And yes, the show is getting good, need more of it.
And you can see with these people if it weren’t for us, the true “resistance”, this country would be in complete demise within 20 years based on their wokeness, even if Hillary hadn’t been elected back in 2016.

I think all of us are in the same boat!! I also no longer try to convince anything to the people in my life that have extreme TDS. I continue to be their friends and have been praying that someone or something will happen that will open their eyes. That’s all we can do at this point.

Basically the left has created their own devil or conscientious that is running things.
I am close to someone like this, they are locked in a deep, deep mental disorder.
They literally can only digest info that confirms or aligns with their beliefs (ie Trump is literally Hitler and everything he does is 100% evil, no exceptions. NONE).
Any info they are presented with that does not fit with their pathology of the things they believe in, is discounted, dismissed, disregarded automatically.
This is not a conscious reaction from them it is hardwired in their programming.
They are literally NPCs.
What I try to do is discuss with the normie a topic, probably not one of the hottest in the news, for which they are open to the opposite of the Deep State propaganda. This, at least, gets them actually engaging brain cells. Typical topics that sometimes work are challenging "medical science" and looking at holistic answers, getting healthier food from gardens and local farmers, the importance of learning practical work skills, and other down-to-earth stuff.
What I do is make my point. Maybe with a follow up comment or two and then leave the conversation. I don’t feel that I need the last word. You don’t need to convince the person you are arguing with. Your points are for the normies that might be passing through.
If your arguments are good enough and based on truth, that will be all you need.
