This is another thing I keep pointing out to people, we have AI because we took pretty much everything on the internet and fed it in... now so much content is AI generated, that starting soon, AI will enter a sort of downward spiral in terms of the quality of its content.
We are so fucked if people start to rely on AI (they already are, including many on this site)

What worries me is...well, a couple things:
The average IQ, which is already low, will lowered even more. Use it or lose it.

Thanks for the link - it was a really good article overall. I am already strongly biased against AI, and this article reinforces many of those negative biases.
However, I foresee a different outcome in the form of a massive anti-AI backlash, with a corresponding premium placed on everything that is handcrafted by real humans. High quality and competence fighting against enshitification. Skilled trades and onshore manufacturing rising to replace worthless degrees, etc.
I believe that individuals and organizations that deliberately swim against this rising tide of AI slop will ultimately enjoy huge competitive advantages, and will be rewarded accordingly (I hope).

In order to understand what a mark is in the context of the Bible, then it is only reasonable that the Bible is allowed to be its own dictionary. To do that, let us have a short study on the two mysteries working in the world today:
The “mystery of godliness” is out in the open for all to see, for all to study and learn about in the pages of the Bible proven as true by prophecy, affirmed as true by archaeology, and upheld as true by history. But the reasons for this “mystery”, which is the plan of salvation as a consequence of love, towards a creation formed as an outflow of love, are ones which no word nor language can fully capture.
But there too exists a second mystery, whose wickedness has no words, who operates as a counterfeit and perversion of the first:
The “mystery of iniquity” is a wickedness which works in darkness, which takes after the mindset of Satan and turns the eyes away from the “mystery of godliness”, leading the body towards the east of Eden in the footsteps of Cain. This “mystery of iniquity”, working in the world to set itself up as king, places itself upon a throne of law:

2.) It arises after pagan Rome, after the ten kingdoms have formed, while still having aspects of Rome. (Daniel 2:33,41; 7:23-24)
3.) It is a different power from the ten, while having more power than the ten. (Daniel 7:20,24)
4.) It arises only after three of the ten have fallen. (Daniel 7:8,20)
5.) It tries to change the times and laws of God. (Daniel 7:25)
6.) It speaks blasphemous things. (Daniel 7:11,25, Revelation 13:1,5)
7.) Particularly over a 1260 year period, this power is stained with the blood of the saints (those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus (Revelation 14:12)) and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. (Daniel 7:21,25; 12:7, Revelation 11:2-3; 12:6,14; 13:5; 17:6; 18:24)
8.) This power was thought to be destroyed, but it exists today, as the seemingly deadly wound has healed. (Revelation 13:3; 17:8)
9.) It has the number of the beast, 666, being the number of a man. (Revelation 13:18)
10.) It receives its power from the dragon, being Satan, thus the power itself is Satanic. (Revelation 13:2,4)
11.) Depicted as a woman, this power is an ecclesiastical power, and riding the beast, this power looks to unify church and state. (Revelation 17:3,7, Daniel 7:17)
12.) She is covered in riches, wears colours of purple and scarlet, and holds a cup of gold. (Revelation 17:3,4)
13.) She considers herself the mother of all churches and thus associates herself with all churches. (Revelation 17:5; 18:7)
14.) She has Babylonian influences written in her mind. (Daniel 2:31,37, Revelation 17:5)
15.) She has universal influence and authority. (Revelation 17:13,21; 18:12-13)
16.) She is a city built on seven hills. (Revelation 17:9,15-16,18)
17.) She is an abomination. (Daniel 11:31; 12:11, Revelation 17:5, Matthew 24:15, Mark 13:14)
The system of Roman Catholicism is the only power that fits each and every criteria listed explicitly by the Bible.
This system, and the mindset which they have been working for millenia to deliver to the world, is the invisible enemy which today pervades all aspects of society. But remember, this is a system that the Bible is describing. Always wield the sword of the Spirit, being the Word of God, while donning the full armour of God, for there are many people stuck in this system unaware of what they are doing, but are doing the best with what they know. However, if these, and others, do not realize the system in which they belong to, how will they know what to separate from?

Not all AI are created equally.
Calculators did not make humanity incapable of getting the answer to math questions quickly and accurately, quite the opposite. I learned math in school. Have I ever used it? Not really. Mostly just conceptually.
So too with AI. AI does all the math these days I just double check the answer.

Comparing the invention of the calculator to that of AI, and rationalizing that the calculator didnt make people stupid therefore AI also won't, is asinine. They are so insanely different.
Calculators are objective - basic arithmetic. Cpu's excel at these types of computations.
AI is subjective - theres no concrete algorithm to conclusively "decide" anything. An AI one day could think 10+10 is 20, then the next day it might think 10+10 is 30. Theres no rhyme or reasoning to it.
Studies are coming out showing those that use AI too frequently and grow to depend on it become stupider and less qualified at their job. It gets to a point where you cant make decisions without it.
AI bros aren't known for thinking about that. Mabye AI dumbing down got to them.
Perhaps people come to rely on it. Just like they rely on a calculator. But I dont think that makes them stupid. I think it makes them multitudes smarter.
Of course you can misuse a calculator and misuse AI. If you really don’t know what you are doing, neither a calculator nor AI is going to be able to fix that. But AI might get you a little bit closer. Or could lead you down a retard rabbit hole.
Ive seen it in my coworkers - once they integrate AI too heavily into their workflow, they cant go without it anymore. These are developers who were perfectly qualified 5 years ago. If you took AI away now, they somehow wouldn't be qualified anymore

I read the whole article. This guy has provided more info and perspective on AI, its effects, and its probable future than anything else I have come across. I was most fascinated by its distortions of the the past and increasing distortions of the present and future. The company I work for is hysterically rushing everyone to get on the AI bandwagon. They think it’s a survival thing… lol.

I think he is missing the beneficial and powerful side of AI. I have been building software using three separate AIs and it is awesome. I am 100x more productive and the quality and speed of output is unparalleled. I don't see how I will ever work with human Dev teams again.
By the time I get done explaining things to the guy here with a Visa, the AI is done and on to the next thing, that I didn't even realize I needed.
AI only gets better and better and better. And more powerful and more dangerous. It's like the Internet was when it came. People can be exponential more productive. And there is no going back.
