Empathy is being able to understand other people’s feelings. That’s not what the supporters of the invasion are doing. For example, a woman from Christendom imagines that if she was from the third world that she would want to come to Christendom to work and live peacefully, to assimilate with the superior culture, and to learn from its orderly and innovative ways. So she projects her own feelings onto the invaders and figures that is what they’re feeling when they come to her country. But of course that’s not what the invaders are feeling and she’s clueless about it because she has projection and sympathy but not empathy. It’s the high-aptitude men from her culture who are able to understand more precisely what the invaders are feeling: aggression, lust, greed, sloth, envy, spite, libido dominandi, and maybe in some cases earnest religious fervor for their desert death cult.
The projection and sympathy are just from the more decent of the invasion supporters. The less decent may realize that the invaders have evil intentions, but those indecent supporters have ulterior motives such as vanity or selling out.
Nice point. I will absorb this. Next time I hear empathy in this context I will say "That's not empathy, you are totally wrong about what they are feeling, in point of fact they are not coming for your imagined reasons but for their own needs that do not include any regard to yours" (needs work, but you make a great point)
suicidal sympathy, that works.
I really like that. I think it could work in the wild.
One small point: change the last word to “desires”. The invaders could have lived just fine in their own countries, so they didn’t “need” to invade other people’s. “Desires” also sounds more salacious so it’s better rhetoric.
Markus is correct:
" in point of fact they are not coming for your imagined reasons but for their own
needsdesires“agreed. Good edit Markus
Reminds me of a story that was told to me - I was invited by a friend to a small fundraiser for a nonprofit that supported a South African Orphanage.
A Caucasian lady had gone to South Africa on a visitation trip with her church. She came back wanting to do something for these young boys/Men in South Africa and started a nonprofit here in town.
Fast forward a year later, and I ran into that friend and asked her how that nonprofit was going, and she said it was shut down because the lady went down to give the money that was raised for the orphanage in person and on the last day of her trip was sexually assaulted by one of the orphans. Empathy can be dangerously stupid.
Good story and thanks for the contribution.
But that wasn’t empathy. If she had empathy then she would’ve understood that the orphan was feeling rapey.
*sympathy can
" on the last day of her trip was sexually assaulted by one of the orphans. Empathy can be dangerously stupid."
Sounds like a metaphor for the whole Open Borders crowd.
It isn't empathy to virtue signal over criminals, rapists, and traffickers and to malign white people as the problem for everything. It's malice, plain and simple. These people can't be coexisted with.
The gate openers.
Traitors should be dealt with accordingly.
