Full auto isnt really all that valuable in the case of civilian protection. It burns through ammo and then you're out. It makes more sense to place each round carefully. But a semi-auto rifle can still fire rapidly ----until your mag is empty.
Yes,
They are a hell of a lot of fun to blow the hell out of what ever you want. But ammo and extra barrels are not cheep. I prefer a well placed shot from cover the full metal overload .
they are useful in case you're bum rushed by a gang of people or maybe it's dark in your house and you only know the intruder's general direction, or maybe you need to air out a vehicle in case of a drive-by... but we should have them, it's our right.
That’s why I have a bunch of 40 round (556/223) mags.
They blow their wad of 10 (cuz that’s all they can legally buy in dem-faggot states). I’m still up 30. And if they do have 30 rd mags, well you get the idea. 🤘🏼

Everything has its place. If they weren't useful the mil wouldn't have machine gunners. Saws and M60s.
But that brrrrtt will get their attention.
