Yea, them standing for the corporations not being able to purchase houses was a head scratcher for me. They get money under the table by allowing the corps. to buy the houses. Why clap for that. It's poking your partner in the eye and laughing.
It's also easier to force corporations to rent to worse tenants (illegals) than it is if mom and pop own the rental. Mom and pop worry about liability, damage, etc. If I heard a foreign accent I'd just assume they're moving in with 20 dependants.
