The Green New Deal was just a scam to steal more from Americans. Everything these people do is to steal the people blind. A bunch of their bogus financial laws are to keep people from using their own money to advance their lives, and if you don't abide their rules they steal more of your money as punishment.
For example you can't take money from a 401K until you are 59 1/2 years old. If you do they get another 10%. You are effectively locked into their system of theft until you are old, and then if you get old enough you are mandated to start withdrawing at 73. It's a fucking racket, and it has always been a racket.
If you work for the govt,you can borrow against your 401k,at very low interest you pay to yourself.
Years ago that was true for private sector 401Ks too, but they changed that to screw the people. At one point your interest was going to you just like your money was still in the 401K, but then money got side lined, and the interest wasn't being paid to your 401K any more.
I beat that racket by getting old. kek Then I ran into the mandated withdrawal. They have to make sure they get their gallon of blood.

I'm old. But I seem to remember learning in I think 6th grade that the atmosphere is 70 something percent CO2....
Last time I checked, CO2 made up around 0.04% of the atmosphere.

I believe that the real plan has nothing to do with Global Warming. Governments must be annoying to those who want to run the world themselves. Step 1 would be to create your own institutions to control governments. So we have the United Nations, the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, World Health Organisation. They tried out the last's power with COVID.
All those organisations are now established but they need funding in perpetuity. What better than a global tax? Initially it would be to "save the planet" with a small overhead going to the UN to run the system. Over time, the UN would cream off increasing amounts to fund all their supra-national governing organisations.
What is not to like?

Here in NY, if they cut ALL CO2 produced by human activities in the state, it would reduce the global human-produced CO2 by 0.4 %. That is not a typo.
