I lived in Spain for three years. I was the only flight engineer on the crew of an EP3 Electronic Patrol Surveillance & Reconnaissance aircraft flying missions in that area. I was home based in Rota, Spain and frequently deployed for a couple of months at a time to Athens, Greece where we flew missions over that area. Way back then we already had advanced technology such as Big Look Radar. The words speak for themselves.
Our motto was In God we trust. All others we monitor. I was stationed in both VQ-2 and VQ-1 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_EP-3
We had a red phone within arms reach of the plane commander when picked up established a direct line to the WH. God I miss that job so much.
Spain not too bad, the people are good, the problem for me is that they lived for years under Franco as dictator and now everyone is ridiculously obedient. I went into a Carrefour supermarket through the exit door, because using the entrance would have meant a long walk, and a few of the employees jumped on me and gave me hell. I told them to "FO" and the look on their faces they could not believe I had not obeyed. The other side of the coin is that anyone with a tiny amount of power likes to throw their weight around.
Leaving that aside I would say that Spain's economy is actually on the up compared to car-crash countries like Germany.
Are they worse than the French and their numerous general strikes? The last few times I was in Paris I tried to go back to the Lourve, I actually got to go in 1 of the 3 times - the other 2 they were on strike again.
Looks like they are trying to weasel out of it.

Too bad
I was hoping we'd ban Spain and then their country would implode and become even more 3rd world

Of all the European nations - they are the laziest and most are prima donnas... they like taking extra long breaks...when it comes to work

I don't think they'd even show up to strike...
Spain like other country have been sucking us dry, tired of those third world countries asking for money and help. Go and fix your own crap Spaniards.
Spain will double down and let another 1.2 million Muslims become citizens 🙄
FAFO
Point of order, your honor.
Trump did not 'threaten" to cut off all trade. He ordered Bessent to do it.
Great news! Get on board or get left behind. France and UK have a long way to go still.
