Wifey and I don't follow any of this. We come with a list, usually with the locations pre-marked. We get in, we get what we need, and we get out. Helps that we eat little dairy and almost no processed slop so if doesn't matter how you manipulate stuff that we're not going to buy under any circumstances.
But I can tell we're the oddballs at the local Walmart.
That’s how I shop. I am usually in and out in less than 10 minutes.
If you're shopping at walmart, you are indeed eating slop. No way around it at a place like that.
Walmart has a selection of organic produce and the same canned beans as everybody else. It costs 2.50 cents more for the exact same sparkling water at Publix. If you know how to pick and choose and have the sense to, you can do just fine. Or, you can pay more for the same stuff, elsewhere.
Corporate organic has the favor, massive work arounds. A lot of times still sprayed with heavy chemistry early on in the life cycle. There are "acceptable" MRL's of these compounds and can still be labeled organic. Its a scam.
Walmart is large enough that they special order products that are different from what the other stores sell. Here's one tiny example. Someone bought a name brand printer there, and it didn't have all the advertised features. He called the 800 number to ask about it, and the person told him that the company sold lesser capable printers to Walmart so they could sell them cheaper.
Look at the bottled water at Walmart. Some of it actually says it's from the municipal water supply of some town in the state of NY. Just faucet water shipped all the way from NY to here in NC. I won't touch it.
yeah, that's true of most spring water. It's mostly a scam.
That's why I don't buy "spring water." I buy purified water. The store brand is cheap, and it tastes good because of the added minerals.
Until the farmers market opens, unfortunately that's all there is in our little town. We make the best of it.
Alot of foods people dont consider can be made at home and are MUCH healthier and cheaper. One example is just about all dairy products. But you have to start with real milk and wallyworld doesn't sell that. Hopefully realmilk.com can help you source some without having to drive too far. Good luck out there!
We support a greenhouse collective that is located much further south than us. Its an option worth looking into if you can find them.
That’s their right. Your responsibility is to aware of the manipulation, which has been known and reported on for decades. Freedom of the marketplace gives us choices and capitalism gives us competition, leading to more of those choices.
Well, they work overtime and have focus groups on how to manipulate consumers. Billions spent on corporate psychology techniques to dupe us all. Not everyone is gifted in seeing through it.
Takes clear intention and dedicated action, not special powers
They have been perfecting this for many decades.
There's also entire isles of potato and corn chips
And sometimes they have islands of them, too!
When processed garbage food is no longer produced. I think the Supermarket sales model will no longer be sustainable. Without all of the preservatives necessary for the long supply chains of big box food operations. It will no longer work. What we eat will be coming home. Local butchers, and purchasing direct from the farm.
So what, nothing they're doing is illegal. I thought this board was all about freedom???? Grocery stores have the freedom to advertise and you have the freedom to ignore it.
I guess the local Food Lion hasn't gotten all the memos. Bread is on a regular aisle, not at the back of the store. There are two sizes of carts as well as hand-carry baskets for shopping.
The bakery is not at the entrance. It's combined with the deli and chicken cooking in a corner of the store. The music played is just pop music at varying speeds and low enough you can barely hear "Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult. I caught that one the other day.
I don't really notice the end caps, except that's where the Little Debbie Cakes are. I don't eat those any more anyway. I don't pick up stuff in the checkout line. When I get there, I'm done shopping.
I've known about the "manipulation" for many decades and just ignore it. The last time in the store, I got just what was on the list.
None of these are loading for some reason.
They’re working for me.
Disconnecting VPN worked.
Interesting post.
In addition to ending the Deep State corruption, we need to run our lives better.
I did know most of these things. I don’t know how I learned but it seems that intuitive to me that this is what they are doing
Tiny print too.
It doesn't matter what store we go to, my wife will come out with several items we didn't go there for. Eventually I limited going to stores just because i knew she would overspend. Now she sits at home on her iPad and we have near daily deliveries from amazon, etc.
It's all about the dopamine. Every time she places an order, dopamine hit. When it shows up at your door with little to no effort on her part, dopamine hit. She's literally sitting in the casino.
At least I am able to keep her out of the Casino's. lol
Hahahaha😅
And then they have so many sales conditions that you can't tell what the price is anymore, either. And for many sales you need your phone to get the sale price.
I'm all for fresh bread smells: I don't mind those at all.
Would be happy without the rainforest simulators, though.
