I can't imagine that you expected a manual to appear before your eyes because you asked politely. It's do-able, but as has been pointed out earlier...it's not a normal life once you make that choice.

Federal income taxes are 'voluntary contributions to the treasury'. You CAN legally exit the IRS if you know how to do it correctly.

Makes you wonder what the people in government being paid with tax dollars that are supposed to be finding this fraud and fixing it are being paid for.
Seems like "more fraud" for them to get a pay check off the backs of americans and not actually do what they're being paid to do. At a job that has interest in profit you'd be fired for this.
I don't think they were looking for fraud at all before DOGE came along. They just assumed everything was legit.
While I would find it easy to agree that you're "probably right", in what other sector of reality can you point to where that amount of value is exchanged and there is no audit?
What I'm saying is, that sounds great.... but I just don't think it's a good excuse at all. "We pass out millions of dollars 'fo' free' and we trust that everyone in the pipeline is good and honest."
This is why God and the Bible have such a large importance in our society. Without them, people follow the morals of man, which vary wildly based upon biases... while the morals of God are rock solid (even written in stone).
IMO, the root of the issue is the fact that the workers don't care about the money and where it goes because it's not their money. Unlike the private sector, the government doesn't have to submit quarterly financial reports and show profit margins. As a result, staff just do the bare minimum to hold their job, keep their head down, try not to rock the boat, and make it to retirement.
Yeah, the way government workers get paid and account for their work needs to be audited. They need to be caring about that money like it's their money and like their job depends upon that money being used for what it was meant for.

Unfortunately, for the vast majority of taxpayers the taxes are confiscated from their paychecks preemptively, and the tax filing deadline is essentially meaningless, as all you're filing for is a refund of your overpayment.
I just found out I owe $4k to this crap ponzi scheme.
