PS: Ok now that all the sappy stuff is done, what the hell is the Secret Service doing? Sorry, gonna rant a bit here and drop the formal tone.
Like, I expected security cameras at every bend, bugged hotel rooms, armed agents every 10 feet, metal detectors out the wazoo.
What I got (who knows, maybe they’re pranking me!) is nothing.
No damn security.
Not in transport.
Not in the hotel.
Not in the event.
Like, the one thing that I immediately noticed walking into the hotel is the sense of arrogance.
I walk in with multiple weapons and not a single person there considers the possibility that I could be a threat.
The security at the event is all outside, focused on protestors and current arrivals, because apparently no one thought about what happens if someone checks in the day before.
Like, this level of incompetence is insane, and I very sincerely hope it’s corrected by the time this country gets actually competent leadership again.
Like, if I was an Iranian agent, instead of an American citizen, I could have brought a damn Ma Deuce in here and no one would have noticed shit.
Actually insane.
And the SS stopped this guy before breaching the main ballroom. They did their job. Will it be different for future events? Probably, they learn from each event. To suggest they didn’t have the security in place is not correct.
The security that the secret security provided was incompetent, and allowing the President to attend at that venue was incompetent. It wasn't just Cole Allen saying it.
"Hinckley stated that the Washington Hilton 'is not secure' and urged the hotel to stop hosting major high-profile events “because bad things keep happening there.”

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, multiple high-profile attendees at the dinner have publicly exposed what they described as shockingly relaxed security protocols.
Kari Lake posted that upon entering, no one visibly inspected her ticket or asked for photo identification.
In a post shortly after the shooting, Lake wrote: I can’t believe how lax the security was at the White House correspondents dinner tonight. Upon entering nobody asked to visibly INSPECT my ticket nor asked for my photo identification. All one had to do was flash what appeared to be a ticket and they were fine with that.
When you consider you are entering a roomful of fake news media —90% of whom hate the President you would think they would have better security. This is what happened when what sounded like gunfire erupted. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/04/john-hinckley-jr-man-who-shot-reagan-whcd/#comments
Notice, it wasn't me suggesting that. That was the would-be shooter's impression of the security.
I commented in a post yesterday that there must be a mole in the secret service.
As did I … because it was stated in a delta! KEK.

As an armchair quarterback , me say : Can we get a tackle ? Apparently not. My feelings are that every SS agent that he got past should be retired. Every agent that fired and missed, you too. The event Security coordinator, your fired too. What the hell, we are in the second administration and 50+ assasination attempts later, conservatively. You all suck. We need a Steven A attitude in this job description.

Maybe the venerable SS isn't what we've come to expect. We think of them as 250# burly dudes that don't take guff from anybody and are willing to go the extra mile to protect their protectee. Yet I've noticed that they are not in the places they should be nor actively watching every square inch of a facility the protectee is in. Why is that? Because they are understaffed, underfunded, or just plain out of their element? A combination of all three probably. These guys are humans with frailties, just like every body else. They might be joking with one another while manning a post in a hotel when a young stud come running by and not have the momentary chance to tackle the dude. That's just plain happenstance.
I will cut them some slack, but the roof top at Butler? Come on, guys. Plus the gal trying to protect POTUS and was a head shorter than him? Not a very good photo op.
Heads will roll at the SS for this and stong words will be said, but in a couple of months it will be business as usual and someone else will play a stupid game.
The USSS went to crap when they moved them out of the Treasury and put them under the DHS with all the DEI bullcrap. The Treasury had the most elite agents and you had to be ELITE to be in the USSS. Since DHS took over, all you had to have was a little law enforcement background or be of a minority. MOVE them back under the Treasury and refine ---weed out---- the bad seed.
