Not only in America is their sacrifice respected and appreciated.
Going back hundreds of years, from defeating the Barbary Pirates and ending slave trading, two world wars, the constant war against communist filth and islamic heathens.
May all who sacrificed their lives for the continuation of Western Christian Civilisation rest in eternal peace in the Kingdom of our Saviour Jesus Christ.
What a sucky detail to be on. It must take a certain kind of person to bestow such bad news to a loved one and then go on to the next house and then to another. These guys probably have seen all sorts of emotions from the loved ones. May God put his hand on their shoulders while they are delivering the bad news.
DO NOT post "Happy Memorial Day" messages on social media or text messages to your friends, family, and loved ones.
DO share stories of any Veterans you may have known that fact the ultimate sacrifice for this country to exist, whether it was during peace time or war is irrelevant.
DO celebrate their lives.
Do use this time to reflect on their sacrifices and to educate the younger generations so our society doesn't forget how we became humanity's greatest ever living socio-political experiment.
We know what we signed up for, and I don't know any Veteran that wouldn't do it all over again if needed to. We don't regret signing up. But we do lament our losses.
This is always a bittersweet time for me. April and May are particularly hard for me because I've lost more people I knew and loved during this stretch than any other. The fact that May is also used for Memorial Day makes it that much harder.
It isn't a happy time for us. It's a sobering reminder of the cost of maintaining freedom and liberty for all.
To all my fallen Brothers and Sisters, I love you and can't wait till the day comes I get to see you all again. I miss you dearly.
Remember WHY this is a 3 day weekend.
