I was actually going to quit about two years ago - got the patches and everything ( still have them actually ) until I stumbled across this stuff
I always chalked up the fact that I, literally, never get sick to the weed - turns out its the smokes.
My ex never got sick ( flu, colds, etc ) until she quit, same with my father and two good friends. My ex MIL smokes 2 packs a day, 70 years old has the health of a 20 year old, and she works and one of the hospitals. Not once in the 30 years I've known her has she even got the sniffles.
Thought I would add this: I've had the flu ONCE in my life, at 31. Can't remember the last time before or after I've even had a cold.
Nicotine blocks your histamines. How do you get respiratory illnesses? Through your nose - the histamines. Sounds outright insane until you do the research.
The CDC even studied this during convid ( you can easily find the studies ) and found the same - smokers didn't get it.
You can use a vape with high nicotine content. I do its way better than a smoke. There are a ton of chemicals in cigarettes that cause cancer but nicotine is not one of them. All I have in my vape is nicotine and the hospital considers me a non smoker.
The vape is so much better especially if you are coughing because of the smokes. I quit actual cigarettes about 16 years or more and went to vape. I smoked 43 years up to that point because I started at 12 and I was coughing constantly. As soon as I switched to vape the cough went away same day.
Its a little bit of a change but its the same as switching brands of cigarettes. You get used to it in a week and it will add years to your life.
Yours is nearly my exact history, including starting smoking at a very young age. I switched to Vapes about fifteen years ago. Rarely sick, and haven't had a cold in years.
So... after finding out all this, I've wondered if people who took the shots, but smoke are safe for fraternizing with. I don't really want to take the risk though lol
Especially given the rumors about nanotech floating around in those concoctions...I don't think nicotine would have any effect on that hardware...IF that's true

Why I don't believe it is because 100% of the people I know got the shots; my entire family, my ex, my friends, everyone. I have been around these people constantly, hugged them ( family + friends not the ex LOL ) had dinner at their homes with their fully vaxxed families. On my end? Nadda, zippo, nothing. Not even a hint of a cold or anything this entire time.
I now think the smokes have been protecting me, because I have seen plenty of people online saying they've had issues being around the vaxxed. I'm just going to keep doing my thing, no news is good news, right lol?

My retired coworker never got sick and he smoked at least a pack of Newport's every day. He had a smokers cough but never got covid or missed work due to a cold or flu.
Meanwhile my nurse wife brought me home every illness that every entered the hospital she worked at.

Just regular ciggs, I actually buy the tubs of tobacco and roll my own.
