Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.

Watched Breadwinner movie. White male father of three is made to look like a dunce at almost everything.
How much must Hollywood loose before they figure out what an enjoyable, financially successful movie plot?
Hollywood is funded by those who want that plot. You and I are their target audience but not their customers.
On the bright side America. It wasn't Iran who won.

Never gets old. I watched that movie a couple months ago. Mel Gibson never disappoints.
Much of everything we’re dealing with today is ultimately downstream of changes to culture as much as it was conspiracy and nefarious influence. And Modern culture is ultimately shaped by entertainment and pop-culture as often as it is by other factors.
To effect permanent and lasting reversals of the current state of affairs. You need to contest the culture. And either retake and or create new cultural institutions and fields.
Something large portions of the modern right struggle to do for various reasons.
Reminder that Lisa Page and Peter Strzok are Iranian
Whoa, somehow I missed this information!!
Jeremiah 30:5 - Thus says the Lord: We have heard a cry of panic, of terror, and no peace. https://www.bible.com/bible/59/JER.30.5.ESV
I hope your Sunday is restful. I hope get a few minutes of quiet time today. I hope you get to hear your favorite song today. I hope you know your worth without becoming conceited, I hope you get a happy surprise today. I hope you heal from anything that tried to break you. I hope your enemies break out with acne or they get a rip in the seat of their jeans or both!
I’m enjoying your kind post & the karma part. It’s not a day of rest for me. Hubby’s had cold, cough & low fever since Tuesday. I know he feels bad because he didn’t go to work today. I’m straightening and putting up barriers to keep my 9 month old, granddaughter, out of stuff. The three year old is a breeze compared to the baby. I’m taking a break with ice on my back sitting in the AC. It’s about 95 with high humidity in NC. You probably know about that being in Texas. Wishing you a blessing even if you already have everything you will ever need. Have a great week.
I just said a little prayer over your household, asking Him to boost your husband's immune system so he can bounce back and enjoy the beautiful days ahead. I also prayed for your grandbabies too that they will enjoy making sweet memories with their grandparents. I miss my grandchildren. They live so stinkin far away, but I get to see some of them again in November, so I'm counting down the days till we are together. I sympathize with the heat. We are at 95 today too, so I run outside each day on hot days and spray down the patio and the kiddie pool for my chickens. They handle cold weather like a breeze, but they hate the heat, so I gotta go throw them frozen treats and cool off the back yard on those extra hot days. Hope the rest of your day passes quickly and sweetly. Be blessed.
Thank you that’s very kind. I can’t imagine being that far away from my grandbabies. We are fortunate they live next door. They are in my grandparents house and we are in my great grandparents house. It’s not much but it’s home. They have a house at the coast & want to move by the time the oldest starts school. It’s a better community and schools than here. We miss them so much on the weekends. We go to the at least once a month and spend the weekend together. Praying you can see your grandchildren more often. At least you can FaceTime. That’s one advantage of technology. We finally got a break today on the heat. Storms came through last night and today. Thankfully the tornado warning didn’t do anything. I was trying to figure out how I would handle 9 month old, 3 year old & a dog in the closet. I figure if I’m fully dressed and not still in night clothes nothing will happen🤣 Seems like the victims always look like they just got out of bed. Not a laughing matter! A comedian, James Gregory has a joke about tornado hitting a trailer park and the news station tells the reporter to interview the overweight redneck in spandex pants. Bless his soul, he was funny. Hubby is feeling better. I packed cold medicine and cough drops for him to take to work. Thanks for the prayers. I’ll keep you in mine.
I always get dressed when there's a tornado warning too. I'd be afraid of being the target of a reporter plastering me all over the news lol. On a serious note though I'll pray the tornado season ignores your home completely. Have a peaceful evening.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. A few weeks ago I told my husband we are going to fine because I put on a bra. I did however clear out two closets. One for me & the baby. The other for him, three year old and the dog. I don’t play with Mother Nature! I love thunderstorms and want to go out west where you can see them fifty miles away. We both wanted to go storm chasing but having a child knocked since into us. Thirty years ago we were on the tail end of a tornado. We passed a cow farm about four miles from the house. I said look at the cows running, that’s funny. Stupid me didn’t even think the obvious. We were 1/4 mile or less from the house & traffic stopped, tree in the road & the wind rocked the car. We drove around (a block) country roads, five miles to get home. The giant satellite was blown over and nothing else wrong. We were very blessed. If you see cows running get in the ditch. Three years ago a tornado came through ten miles from me and it knocked down half the Pfizer plant, used to be Abbott long ago, husband worked there a long time ago. I believe that was God taking it out. It took out the warehouse with the drugs. They are almost closed, most laid off. I feel for people like that. Pharmaceutical industry is the biggest paying jobs here unless you are doctor, lawyer or own big business. He’s always worked pharmaceuticals, maintenance now. It took out our favorite Mexican restaurant and they just reopened after three years. That’s the first time one has gotten that close. I take them seriously now and have weather app notifications. I need to be as dedicated as you are with prayers. I’m getting much better than I used to be. Take care🥰 enjoy Texas, I went once and absolutely loved it.
I don't blame you. I have an emergency preparedness plan in place too, but hopefully I will never have to use it. Hope y'all have a safe and peaceful summer. Good night fren.
Right back at ya fren!
great comment...we have been through quite a week, and there are more ahead, so taking time to "recharge your batteries" is necessary, imo...
Yes, I often forget to recharge, so I hope to inspire others to take a moment and just breathe.
Thank you my fren, this is beautiful
Thanks! Enjoy your day!
Drilling Down: Neanderthals Practiced Dentistry BY FRANK SHERWIN, D.SC. (HON.) | MONDAY, JULY 13, 2026
https://www.icr.org/article/16014/
Over 60 years ago, conventional scientists taught that Neanderthals were slouching, subhuman brutes—just another evolutionary link bridging the gap between animals and people. But recent research calls such a claim into question once again.
According to evolutionary theory, Neanderthals lived 34,000 to 400,000 years ago, but creationists would say they lived only about 4,000 years ago, shortly after the Flood (early Ice Age). Fossils from this extensive archaic people group have been found from Israel to Siberia, from Wales to Western Eurasia.
Through the decades, discoveries and research have clearly revealed that Neanderthals were just as human as you and your neighbor. They cooked and ate crabs (possibly seasoned with wild herbs!),1 made practical tools and equipment,2 and used a “sophisticated” method to produce tar.3 People have done these things throughout history and still do them today.
Now another fascinating clue has been found pointing to Neanderthals belonging to the human population. In a Russian cave, researchers discovered what they believe to be a 60,000-year-old Neanderthal molar tooth with a hole in it. A LiveScience article has dubbed the discovery “the oldest evidence of intentional dentistry to date.”4
During the Neanderthal’s lifetime, part of the tooth began to rot. So, they treated it like any modern dentist would, drilling a hole to clear away the rotten tissue and filling the cavity to avoid further damage. Clearly, whoever performed the feat “had the brains to recognize this painful tooth cavity could be treated and possessed the fine motor skills to successfully execute the procedure.”4 The scientists added in PLOS One, “Evidence suggests they cared for sick, injured, and elderly group members, with possible use of medicinal plants.”5
Unsurprisingly, Neanderthals continue to reveal distinctly human traits, as would be expected on the basis of God’s creative activity on the sixth day of the creation week: creating mankind in His own image (Genesis 1:27).6,7 These competent dentists were 100% humans.
So much for Neanderthals being our subhuman ancestors.

It’s a running theme of humans seeking to elevate themselves over what came before. The term ‘Dark Ages’ in regard to the Medieval era and much of the negative stereotypes and tropes surrounding it as an example were largely created and popularized by Revolutionaries and Enlightenment Thinkers in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Seeking to ultimately shore up their own ‘right to rule’ as it were. And further erode the vestiges and legitimacy of the old power structures they sought to replace. Because clearly our ancestors didn’t know better and we finally cracked the secret this time.
tl:dr Neanderthals didn't have nitrous oxide.
Short article Unk, they where tough back then.
No doubt.
Girls were girls and men were men.
Men were men and women were glad of it.
Psalm 16:11.
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
I love that verse.
It's possibly my favorite.
Beautiful!
Yes, it is.
St. Augustine of Hippo:
Great art Thou, O Lord, and greatly to be praised; great is Thy power, and of Thy wisdom there is no end. And man, being a part of Thy creation, desires to praise Thee, man, who bears about with him his mortality, the witness of his sin, even the witness that Thou "resistest the proud, " - yet man, this part of Thy creation, desires to praise Thee. Thou movest us to delight in praising Thee; for Thou hast formed us for Thyself, and our hearts are restless till they find rest in Thee.
