The 1965 immigration and naturalization bill needs overhauling because it is structured to favoring third woeld immigrant's instead of Europe like it did before, favoring western countries where the immigrants were more likely to assimilate easily. Now it’s basically DEI of immigration and needs overhaul and restructure to what it was before

It’s an interesting idea. That a few states can become independent countries. But the impulse to be independent is a truly American one. In fact each state was like its own country prior to the civil war reunification. Even afterwards they maintained a voice in Washington through the Senators appointed by each state legislature and tasked with representing the states interests at the federal level. Unfortunately this important check on federal government power was upset by the 17th amendment, passed by the big-time socialist FDR during the Great Depression, which made senators directly elected and basically turned them into little aristocrats without term limits who could wheel and deal as they wished. Of any issue that requires reform it’s this one. Once the voice is returned to the states there will be less impulse to break away because there will be a natural independence among them
