Your sister should obtain a copy of her medical and surgical records pronto. If she works at the hospital where surgery was done, she should be able to read the records. The nurse involved should go to the hospital ethics committee for what it is worth. Unfortunately all hospital entities could be directed to suppress and the nurse who spoke with the patient anonymously could be dismissed.
