Hmmm...I wonder where the phrase, "poisoning the well" orginated?
Modern instances of antisemitic libel. Allegations of well poisoning entwined with antisemitism have also emerged in the discourse around modern epidemics and pandemics such as swine flu, Ebola, avian flu, SARS, and COVID-19.[13
Eerie connection: Those same bioluminescent algae/plankton are the angelic-like beings that carry Simon's body out to sea after the boys of Lord of the Flies beat him to death (thinking he was the Beastie) and left his body on the shoreline. Never forget --Ralph and Piggy and even Sam n' Eric were in on it. No innocents. None. Except for Simon, considered by many to be the Christlike figure of the novel, who simply intuited that the Beast is Within, and tried to tell as much. Kill the Beast
The Lev Tahor Jewish sect was in the crosshairs of Guatemalan authorities due to allegations of child abuse, forced marriages and teenage pregnancies.
Guatemalan authorities on Friday rescued 160 children from a farm belonging to the Lev Tahor sect, an ultra-Orthodox Jewish group under investigation for alleged sexual abuse of minors , the Interior Minister and the Attorney General's Office reported.
"The operation led to the rescue of 160 minors who were allegedly being abused by a member of the Lev Tahor sect," wrote Minister Francisco Jiménez on the social network X after a raid on the property located in the municipality of Oratorio, about 60 km southwest of the capital, where the sect settled in 2016.
Prosecutor Dimas Jiménez said at a press conference that the raid was carried out due to "suspicion" of human trafficking crimes "in the form of forced pregnancy, child abuse and rape ."
The alleged remains of a minor were found during the raid , the prosecutor's office added.
" Zero tolerance for child abuse! " said the minister, who said they had the support of the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The Jewish sect Lev Tahor was in the crosshairs of Guatemalan authorities due to allegations of child abuse, forced marriages and teenage pregnancies .
In October, authorities carried out a raid to check on the minors after a failed attempt in August, but the sect leaders again prevented them from talking to them.
The sect, which has described investigations as "religious persecution" , settled in Oratorio in 2016 after being expelled from an indigenous Mayan village in 2014 due to conflicts with locals and spending time in a building in the Guatemalan capital.
Yea, yea, I know, Red Cross, but I think this procedure may apply in your situation:
A patient must have his/her physician submit a Red Cross Special Collections Order form for the Red Cross to collect blood from the selected donors. Once a completed, signed form is received, a specialized scheduling team will contact the donors to arrange appointments at designated collection centers and shipment to participating transfusion services.
Haven't looked into this myself, but I'm a hoarder of good links via Bookmarks. Here ya go, Fren. I hope they're able to help you and yours.
p.s./ B+ blood type here. Never took the COVID vax. If you're in the mid-Atlantic region, and dad can use, I'll donate.
I did a little bit of digging on that and I could be wrong, but my understanding was that the Smith-Mundt Act, which forbade the U.S. Gov from propagandizing its citizens, was not repealed, but rather, *revised *to allow for non-governmental news sources to propagandize for them. In other words, government agencies could outsource their propaganda goals by contracting advertising/public relations companies. To me, this illustrated "Fake News" in a whole different light. But like I said, I only did a little bit of digging and as with any Bill or Act, I need to read it 2-3 times before I even begin to get the gist. So please do correct me if my understanding is incorrect.
