Actually, terraces are pretty good idea because they conserve the precious topsoil. Our nearby lake used to be really deep years before farming started up bigtime in the area. It filled with silt and is now shallow from the runoff that came from the fields before they started terracing.

Jeffrey spelling goes back to Indo-European history when the Nordic families wouldn't name their newborn babies until after a week old. Until then, the child was called Jeffrey, or, "Jef" "Frey", meaning "Gift from the Lord".
