Anybody know anything about taking care of orphaned kittens? A coworker of my husband found a couple of brand new kittens (I'm talking umbilical cord dry but firmly intact, eyes and ears sealed shut) in the back of his truck on Monday and my husband volunteered us to foster them. I think they're doing okay, they've made it through two nights and are consistently gaining weight (they've put on about 15 grams each since we got them home Monday evening), but I have no idea how to be sure; the interwebs isn't as helpful as one might think, and I don't have the cash for a vet visit at the moment. We have them in a box with a heating pad under their blanket, they're eating about every 2 hours (and they are starting to let us know exactly when it's feeding time instead of us having to wake them up to eat), and they seem comfortable. All that sounds promising, right?

Looking at school district stats in our state (Arkansas), it appears that most districts have about a 10-15% homeschool rate (although stats from the current year aren't up, so I don't know if it's gone up or down). Most people I know say they would hate homeschooling because they don't want to be around their kids that much.

My husband and I have chosen homeschooling for our two youngest, although my oldest will stay in public school (her dad is a douche). To be fair, though, I have always planned to homeschool my children if and when the Lord provided the means, and my husband and I were both homeschooled so it seems like the natural choice for us. I don't think he was always sold on the idea (something about weird homeschool kids, lol), but today's educational system has definitely changed his mind.

He was on Charlie Kirk a bit ago and from what I gathered, the plan is:

a) handheld internet sniffers for people to take with them to try to figure out if the machines are connected to the interwebs

b) keep working with states between now and then to get paper ballots and hand counts in as many precincts as possible; he had individual state contacts give reports at the conference about progress to date and what still needs to be accomplished.

c) ballot chasing to the highest degree allowable by law

Apparently, he used a drone to drop off the device and MSM says that's not going to be legal, it's dumb, blah blah blah. He was kind of laughing on Kirk's show as he explained that the drone was just for effect, the actual devices will be hand held and totally legal (his legal team has been making sure of the legalities).

Here's the link to today's show, I think Mr. Lindell came on about an hour and 5 minutes in (but don't quote me on that, the livestream was ongoing and I think that might have been messing with the timestamps):

I think it may depend on the size of the munchkin and the frequency of breastfeeding, but it seems pretty safe from this?

Central AR here, not Little Rock or Conway, but near both (fairly rural, 45 minutes one direction is LR, 45 minutes the other way is Conway). Overall, our state is very conservative, although the closer you get to Little Rock the more liberal it is. Also, the college towns (Conway and Fayetteville; Fayetteville's worse) are more liberal than those of us out here in the boonies. It's been forever since I've been to Hot Springs, but I remember that it's beautiful in that area of the state. I'm not sure about the climate there either, but here in Central AR, our winters are fairly mild; we only have bad snowstorms every few years, but we do usually have at least one ice storm every winter. Summers kind of suck (today has been nice in the high 80's with 70% humidity), but personally, I'd rather have a hot summer with a bearable winter than the other way around.

I haven't been stung by a wasp that I can remember...however, I get stung by bees almost every time I open my hives. Initially, the stings would be really awful and swell, itch, and hurt for days. Now, though, after three years (or four, I can't remember), I rarely swell unless I get stung on my face (I swear the jerks seek me out in the yard for a couple of days after I inspect), it only hurts for a few minutes, but it does itch for a few days. It's not fun, but it's no longer horrible exactly....

My dumb sister thinks DeSantis is the best candidate for the same reason. She's a public school teacher, so I'm actually surprised she hasn't jumped feet first into the cesspool of liberalism that is public education, but still, she doesn't listen to reason (she generally thinks she's the smartest person in the room because she's a teacher). Meanwhile, my grandparents don't like Trump because the tv tells them they shouldn't, my mom's brother (retired Air Force Lt Col) is all in on communism because "Trump is mean and ignorant," and one set of in-laws (FIL is a retired Army MSgt special ops guy) don't pay attention to politics and they get regularly boosted "because it makes travel more convenient." Some days, I just can't with the people in my family.

No thank you. We need Sarah here in Arkansas for now. And it's my understanding that Mike is rather "progressive" for a conservative (although, I recently learned that he did A LOT for homeschooling freedom while he was governor).

I told my grandmother about my ongoing adventures in sourdough and she requested raisin bread ("but not too much cinnamon")...so I'm on a quest today to find (and bake) the perfect (quick) sourdough raisin bread recipe for her. Should be an interesting and hopefully tasty endeavor.

I suggest praying for understanding, wisdom, discernment, and knowledge, then opening your Bible. I've always found that when I read with God's guidance, I get a lot more out of my reading. I've also found that every time I read through passages I've read before, I learn something new I didn't notice before, so, you know, read it cover to cover, then read it again. :-)

I think it's worth considering. However, I think we must continue to pray for wisdom, discretion, and courage, and I intend to continue cautiously supporting President Trump until God reveals to me that he is not worth my support (and I fully believe that at the right time God will make sure I know).

MTG posted halfhearted praise for it on Gab a few days ago, but nothing since. Folks don't seem to be falling for it tho.

"Hearing Speaker McCarthy’s soon to be finalized agreement on the debt limit will clawback $400 MILLION from the CDC “Global Health Fund” that sends money overseas to countries like China.

Here’s a few other countries that will no longer get access to these taxpayer dollars:

Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Burma, Cambodia, China, Ivory Coast, DRC, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Haiti, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Malawi, Mail, Moldova, Mongolia, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Thailand, Tunisia, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Also on the chopping block is nearly $1.5 BILLION from the CDC’s “Vaccine Distribution and Monitoring Program.”

A mudroom and an extra room to use as a school room. The house we live in was built for me to my specs by my parents 7 years ago, but at the time, I was a single mother and didn't know how much God was going to bless me with my amazing husband who is on board with my dreams of a homesteading lifestyle plus two more beautiful children that we will be homeschooling. Other than that, our super simple and plain house is just right!

Last year, I planted a handful of purple pod beans (which turn into green beans when you cook them) along a fence that gets very little direct sunlight. They did pretty well toward the end of summer, and they looked really pretty along the fence.

That's his girlfriend, Nova Rockafeller. Rockafeller is not her real name. she thought it was funny to be called a Rockafeller when she was super poor.

Oh man, I had a pair of corduroy maternity pants when I was pregnant with my now almost 14 year old. They were so comfortable, and I'm pretty sure I kept wearing them after she was born until they worse out. I had forgotten all about them.

Definitely not defending Gardasil (it's horrible), but just to offer you a bit of hope on the fertility front....my sister and I were duped into Gardasil back in our 20's. Our mom had no idea that it was bad and encouraged us to get it; she believed the whole "vaccination against cervical cancer" campaign, and I wasn't awake and researching everything yet. Since then, I have been pregnant four times and have 3 absolutely beautiful children (I lost my 3rd baby 6 weeks into my pregnancy), and my sister has 2 beautiful children. I'm fairly certain it had negative consequences on us, but praise the Lord, our fertility wasn't impacted.

Eggplant. There must be some way to cook it that isn't gross, but I haven't found it.

I'm already planning to make one for my mom with something along the lines of "I'm a conservative, go ahead and arrest me too."

It's hatch day! (Well, I set eggs in the incubator two days in a row, so it's hatch day 1...) Watching baby chickens fight their way out of their shells provides a much needed brain break from everyday stuff. I'm gonna get my hands in some dirt today too (I've started direct seeding a few things in the garden AND I have a few tomatoes that need potting up since I can't get them in the ground just yet), what a wonderful day the Lord has made!

I've potted up more tomato and pepper starts than I can count over the last couple of days. There's something incredibly therapeutic about getting my hands in the dirt, planting tiny seeds, watching them turn into plants, and really just the whole process of growing them into beauty or food.

I've always done home and vehicle loans through our local credit union where I've done my banking for the last 20 years. My husband and I have had three different vehicles financed through whoever the dealership recommended, but within a few months of purchase, we have refinanced each of them through our credit union (with a much better interest rate in all three cases). I've never had issues and it's really nice to be able to walk into a local branch and talk to a real person if I have any questions.
