lol - needing sanity came from realizing Reddit shadow banned certain topics (some of my posts), The Donald having so many problems with Reddit and my own personal awakening around that time. As an elementary school teacher, I have seen kids not understand that everyone doesn't just get SNAP. They were confused when I talked about budgets, food choices etc... The worst example was a parent who refused to pay for a field trip (2.00) because they were on welfare. She demanded that the school pay her sons way. I paid for him. Then she sent him with 20.00 spending money...

I agree, but the laundry list if items to add is so extensive. I personally am not happy to have learned most of the theory of teaching is also connected to Critical race theory. As a teacher, I have found so many theories are crap. I have realized that educating students is based on making robots instead of critical thinkers. I hate I am expected to bring the bottom 1/4 of my class up while letting the upper 3/4 languish. It took me years to focus on critical thinking and creating a learning environment that encourages students to follow their interests and then finding ways to help them learn what I am expected to teach with the selected interests. I am happy to say this has made me one of the most successful teachers at my school. I an sad to say that I teach about 1/4 of thr students in my grade. Every other teacher teaches to the best of their ability but is restrained by the level of brainwashing they have.
