Only problem with a generator is they need fuel to run ,either petrol or gas so if supply is a problem then you’re still going to be without power. I’m on a stand alone solar power system entirely off grid. It is a fairly big system though and does run two households. A small solar setup is probably the way to go with a genset backup.
I’ve heard the 1 foot buy him ,2 feet try him and so on saying , but not that one. I’ll have to remember it. :) There’s no difference in white and dark coloured horn but I know lots that will steer clear of white feet and believe that. My best footed horse is actually a Perlino with white feet , his feet are as tough as nails.
Horse colour genetics is a bit of a hobby of mine. Don’t often see grey Fell ponies but they sure look like Fells, you are correct they’re mainly dark colours. Genetically greys are interesting. You need 1 grey parent to throw grey so one or both parents of these would have to be grey too,I wonder if she bred or bought them. Thanks for the upvote :)
There’s an old Arabian horse legend that goes something like this: Praise the red horse for his speed for if you see a red horse flying than believe it for his feet don’t touch the sand when he gallops. Praise the bay horse for his courage and strength ,if you see a bay horse fall from the highest mountain and is safe then believe it for the bay horse is fortunate and strong. The white horse is the mount of kings, for on the head of the rider is a crown. The black horse is the mount of death except for the horse with 3 white socks and the right fore clear he is the most precious of the blacks.
So white horse is mount of kings. ( these are greys by the way, technically a white horse has pink skin and pale eyes).
I know , but I prefer to be outside playing with the horses or reading a book than watching something for a couple of hours. There’s no feeling like riding home when the sun is starting to set, watching the change in colour of the sky. Each to their own I guess :)
I don’t watch much tv or movies. Would rather go for a trail ride or potter around the farm. I guess never got around to it. Every time it has been on tv I’ve been busy doing something else. It’s a couple hour drive one way to the cinema.
NC ? Sorry I live in Australia so not sure where that is. I still collect the eggs, have a few chickens as I don’t like shop bought eggs. I can’t imagine the traffic in large cities in America. My daughter is making a trip there in a couple of months time as her in laws live in Texas and she’s never met them. Hoping she sends me lots of photos.
That’s generally what happens. Kids have a fall and it’s not that they don’t like horses it’s they become scared of them. Falling off hurts.Ponies are fun though ,they have attitude. I’ve got both but the ponies make me laugh.
I can’t even deal with traffic lights ,I hate driving to the city and very rarely go, seeing driverless cars would do my head in. Much prefer to be a country bumpkin and live in the middle of nowhere.
I’m with you although I’ve been riding for a very long time. At least I pretty much know what the horse is going to do before it does it just by reading it’s body language. These driverless cars scare the crap out of me.
It makes sense. I’ve lost a horse to snake bite and seen others and the effects are very similar to those adverse effects from the jab. The horses get muscle tremors ,stagger ,have no control and they bleed out of the nostrils just prior to death depending on what snake bit them. A lot of the videos I’ve seen of jab victims ,the shaking/tremors are similar.
1st, 2nd or 3rd movie ?
