They consider other things besides the crime in sentencing. A soccer Mom with zero prior offenses who got injured in a car crash and addicted to pain pills and then started buying non-prescription drugs and carried a gun is going to fare a lot better in sentencing than a convicted drug dealer gang member who also spent spent 10 years in prison for attempted murder. I'm assuming Hunter has no prior violent convictions which will help him in sentencing.
That's the way to do it, ignore their stupid questions created to ensure you lose support and to avoid talking about the real issues, which Democrats are largely responsible for and have no workable solutions to.
