Fun fact: the police chief at the time of the Brooks shooting, Erika Shields, hightailed it out of ATL and made her way up north. She's now the police chief in my nearby hometown of Louisville KY (How they managed to land her after Breonna Taylor still boggles my damned mind) Shields makes Louisville police chief number FOUR since last summer. Last time I checked Louisville had over 70 homicides (we set a record last yr with 173) My hometown is straight FUCKED, friends.
Dad was drafted in 63, served 2 yrs Stateside, and got out. I am fully convinced he has survivors guilt (he said his unit got sent over later and as he put it 'got slashed to ribbons') it's an unwritten rule in our house not to mention those names you mentioned around him.
ha they were here in Louisville KY last Sept (they moved the date of the Kentucky Derby cause covid) but we had such a large KSP/NG presence all they did was walk around the track (and a couple of them passed out from the heat, which made it fucking hilarious. Wear all black in upper 80s heat and don't drink water and see what happens. Idiots) Couple of them showed up downtown later that night to where the local protesters had set up camp in Jefferson Square and the local protesters were PIIIIIIISSED. Didn't want them anywhere near there.
Yuuuup. My husband once tried to quote Louisville Metro Police Department homicide statistics to an acquaintance but she wouldn't hear them cause they came from the police department and can't be trusted (Louisville KY, where the idiot Dem gov and city mayor have let the BLM/Breonna Taylor types protest virtually untouched but mask mandate and lockdowns cause covid19) Like seriously, it's their fucking JOB to INVESTIGATE these homicides (for those keeping score at home, we're already up to SIXTY FOR THE YEAR. We had 173 last yr)
Yea even my husband who BARELY watches any news at all (he was a 911 calltaker for Louisville KY until just last yr, his reasoning being 'why watch it when I LIVE it?') txted me that night when I was at work 'wtf is up with Fox News, they just called AZ stupid early'
I hadn't been a fan of FoxNews for a while (and Mom HAAAAATED them ever since they hired that DNC stooge Brazile) but Dad was still watching it all. the. time. That changed after election night. Next time I went to visit my parents after that, I showed them Newsmax and they dumped FoxNews. I wish I could get them to cut the cord, but they're out in the boonies with garbage internet so streaming isn't really an option.
We had two inches of snow Apr 20 in central KY (most measurable snow we've ever had this late in the yr) Wrestling personality Jim Cornette, who lives in Louisville KY, mentioned on his podcast how that was the first time he'd seen the dogwood tree in front of his house in full bloom with snow on the leaves. Said it was freaky. Now Central IN is under a frost advisory for tomorrow morning.
Megadeth - Peace Sells Released in 2004 and lyrics sound like they could have been written last week. Just incredible.

there's that number again ....
Did you see the shit show in Louisville a while back when BLM stood outside the cheer competition screaming at the kids walking in and out of the building? Hearing now that competition has said they aren't coming back to Louisville and i don't blame them at all. The ringleader of that little protest got arrested during that Derby night protest (Twitter link to video here) and it's one of the most satisfying BLM arrests EVER. God bless LMPD
Honestly shocked this hasn't happened sooner. KY is a constitutional carry state with no laws on the books again open or conceal carry. (Source: we live just south of Louisville KY, our hometown) Louisville is a fucking mess right now. Our idiot Dem state gov and equally idiot Dem city mayor coddling these asshole protests (no joke LMPD went live on FB during part of the protests and you could hear the lady filming explain they allowed the march as long as they stayed on the sidewalk. Guess what didn't happen?) LMPD is short about 250 cops, we're at 53 homicides for the yr last time I checked.
Um is Biden still across the pond?
