Seriously though, Fren I went through the same thing. Once they found out I was backing Trump my family ostracized me, I live in a liberal city in Canada plus I work in science, a very liberal field. What I would do is I'd disconnect. Every few weekends I take my car leave the city w/my husky and just stay at a cottage for a bit.

That's just a temporary fix though. Politics is great and all but I found out the hard way I can't let it define me. Find other hobbies and skills you enjoy, I picked up mountain climbing, cooking and reading. Let those occupy your mind, things that bring you serendipity.
