No offense intended, but I've always been put off by "Trust in Jesus!!" statements. It comes across as a sort of deus ex machina for any issue, as though having faith is enough.
Maybe I'm off base here, but I've come to believe that the whole idea is for us to trust in the ability to use logic and reason which were given to us by whatever/whoever our creator is. Which is to say, trust in ourselves and our own minds.
Use "statist" in mixed company.
Funny story. My uncle's name was Mick. When I was a kid I could never figure out why adults would say they refused to say things in Mick's company, but then obviously did once I was out of the room.
