slow news day!
I don't know about the farm valuation, but according the Palm Beach Post, Mar a Lago is taxed at $37 million
https://www.aol.com/upped-value-mar-lago-other-174412602.html
Former President Donald Trump’s famous Mar-a-Lago Club has been valued at $37 million in the just-finalized Palm Beach County property-tax rolls for 2023.
The 18 million seems to go back to 2011.
Judge Arthur Engoron has based his valuation of the club on the county property appraiser’s valuations going back several years, from $18 million in 2011 to $27.6 million in 2021.
So the other thread has it backwards
If President Trump is guilty of overvaluing his properties in NY for 20 years, then NY owes him Billions of property tax Dollars.
The values on his tax statements were not the same as values on his financial statements.
Mar-a-Lago is a 17 acre developed property that Trump purchased for $7,000,000 in 1985
Yes, but there have a been a ton of changes to the RIGHTS of the property since 1985? Do you know why Mar a Lago is a commercial business now and not a private house?
Trump was flying high in the 1980s then hit hard times in the 1990s.
April 1991 Trump Taj Mahal files for bankruptcy https://www.upi.com/Archives/1991/04/09/Trump-reaches-agreement-with-bondholders-on-Taj-Mahal/7261671169600/

Trump had personally guaranteed some of these loans and in negotiations with bankers, his personal spending was limited.
Because of this Trump found like Marjorie Post before him, that it was too expensive to keep Mar a Lago as a house. It was costing him $2.5 million a year.
Trump first wanted to develop Mar a Lago into multiple houses, but he was turned down by the town and he sued Palm Beach
As promised, Donald Trump has filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against the town for denying his requests to divide his lavish Mar-a-Lago estate into lots for private homes.
The 70-year-old estate is "perhaps too expensive for any one individual to maintain indefinitely," says the lawsuit, which was filed Thursday in Palm Beach Circuit Court and asks for more than $50 million in damages. https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/news/1992/07/07/trump-sues-town-of-palm-beach-for-50-million/6018347007/
In February 1991, Trump asked to divide his 16-acre property into nine lots to ease the burden of caring for the National Historic Landmark. He says the estate costs $2.5 million a year to maintain.
he struck a deal with Palm Beach to turn it into a club and in the use agreement he gave title of the land to the club and signed a binding restriction that the land should be used as a club.
Later on he signed a conservation easement where he agree not to further develop the property. https://www.palmbeachpost.com/story/news/2017/12/21/trump-in-palm-beach-how-trumps-mar-a-lago-private-club-took-advantage-of-irs/6604307007/
Both of these changes saved him a lot in taxes. And are why Mar a Lago is not valued like the homes surrounding it.
The 454 Million still stands.
He just doesn't have to put up that amount for the bond while he appeals
If he loses the appeal he still pays 454 million plus interest.
No. The companies themselves are defendants in this case.
All of the below are part of the lawsuit.
v. DONALD J. TRUMP, DONALD TRUMP JR, ERIC TRUMP, ALLEN WEISSELBERG, JEFFREY MCCONNEY, THE DONALD J. TRUMP REVOCABLE TRUST, THE TRUMP ORGANIZATION, INC., TRUMP ORGANIZATION LLC, DJT HOLDINGS LLC, DJT HOLDINGS MANAGING MEMBER, TRUMP ENDEAVOR 12 LLC, 401 NORTH WABASH VENTURE LLC, TRUMP OLD POST OFFICE LLC, 40 WALL STREET LLC, SEVEN SPRINGS LLC
He tried to do that before he was prevented. An injunction was issued on the transfer of any assets. That's how the court appointed monitor got installed
A year ago, on the day New York Attorney General Letitia James filed her lawsuit against Trump, the company created a new entity, Trump Organization II LLC, a foreign corporation incorporated in Delaware,
He didn't say the case was overturned. He said it was the 5th time in this case he was overturned.
My sense of overturned is a big reversal, not just a clarification or narrowing. Maybe I'm wrong.
The judgment wasn't overturned. The bond was lowered. I don't think Engoron ever had anything to do with the bond.
As for the statute of limitations - he was referring to when he appealed on grounds of statutes of limitation. They were going after him for stuff as far back as 2011. The appeals court said they could only go back to 2014.
Trump said Engoron did not abide by this which is incorrect
Engoron said he can consider evidence from 2011, and that the statute of limitations doesn't effect evidence if it's used to help prove future issues inside of the statute of limitations. It will be yet another grounds for appeal.
Right pre 2014 evidence and testimony had to be connected to post 2014 charges to be allowed.
I'm pretty sure Trump tried to sue Engoron over this issue. The lawsuit was dropped with prejudice.
There's a ton of info on this in the pretrial evidence and the trial testimony.
There's actually a ton of evidence in the trial regarding this
Outside the courtroom in his other trial, Trump said he would put up cash for the collateral for the bond.
Trump's lawyers asked to file a delay based on pretrial publicity. Judge say OK, but the April 15th date stands.
Covered that in a comment in the other thread I made

Some of this got investigated by the Feds when Trump was president. Michael Cohen was convicted in 2018 on this. He is a witness in this trial. So the staties turned over everything they had on Cohen. Then Trump's lawyers subpoenaed the Feds in Jan and they just got a ton of documents delivered.
Judge basically said this wasn't the DA's fault and why did wait on requesting these documents and informing this court.
Today's ruling had nothing to do with the Statue of Limitations though. And the case hasn't been overturned.
Ivanka Trump got loose from the case due to the statue of limitations.
I think Trump might be talking about testimony, but I'm pretty sure none of the years affected by the statute of limitations affected the penalty.
Here's a link.
So 15 days ago, this trial was delayed for 30 days, but today the judge stuck to that 30 day delay as the district attorney for Manhattan was not responsible for when the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York produced documents.
Judge issued his ruling.
Merchan finds the DA is "not at fault" for the late production of documents.
"The People have complied and continues to comply" with their discovery obligations.
Jury Selection is April 15th.
Trump just flashed a thumbs up as he headed back into the courtroom after the fraud trial bond was reduced by more than half

All states have what are known as blue sky laws which are general anti fraud laws usually regarding securities where you can go after fraud in the marketplace. The first was passed in Kansas where securities were being sold backed by nothing but "the blue skies."
New York's executive law 62 is probably the broadest in the country

Trump is court and the hearing has started.
Judge said Trump accused prosecutors of "serious discovery violations" and "widespread misconduct."
No audio or cameras in NY courtrooms
How there committing fraud with Fanny Willis with that building where someone lost 3 million?
I don't think this is Fani Willis.

heh, there was Netflix documentary on scammers and they had a these guys who robbed an airport where pallets of cash were being processed and they were totally unprepared for how heavy the cash was and struggled to get out with just some of it.
The issue in criminal court is Trump had asked the Manhattan DA for any material on Michael Cohen, including material from his federal case. This should regularly be turned over in discovery.
Cohen was convicted in 2018 and did time for five counts of tax evasion, one count of making false statements to a financial institution, one count of willfully causing an unlawful corporate contribution, and one count of making an excessive campaign contribution at the request of a candidate for the "principal purpose of influencing an election. Also he 2018 he was convicted of lying to Congress.
The Manhattan DA say they turned over what they. Trump's lawyers subpoenaed the US Attorney for Cohen material and a boatload was turned over just recently. This is what caused today's hearing and pushed the trial date back. 100,000 pages of records were turned over. The Manhattan DA said most of these were not new and “only limited materials relevant to the subject matter of this case and that have not previously been disclosed to defendant.”

This is sounding like Trump won't pay the bond tomorrow.
Well this was a civil lawsuit
So if I wronged you and owed you $500,000 in a court judgement. I would also owe interest if I delayed paying you, even if it was due to appeal.
The state being the plaintiff makes it less obvious.
Gateway Pundit put a misleading spin on what Turkey said. Here's the video

Turkey was asked if she did seize a property can she just sell it off.
His answer was it would be a complex process.
He doesn't say she can't do it.
It's about 3:30 in.
Turley's example is also arguing against a misperception people have not what the actual process is.
While everyone is celebrating this idea that she’s going to padlock Trump Tower. It’s not likely to happen, and it’s certainly not likely to remain very long.”
Trump Tower is a condo building most of the ownership is the people owning their own apartments. So she was never going to padlock the place.
The Trump Organization owns the retail and commercial portions of the building.
Turkey is right that this takes a long time and has to go through legal procedures.
It's not like it's a poker table and she just scoops up his chips and walks away to cash out.
