The principal of my grade school, Mrs. S. was correct! She was maybe 4'8" and about 90# soaking wet but she was fierce. She gave the 4th grade class the speech each year. Back in 1968, it was my turn to hear it. Mrs. S. told us that Britain was going to go the way of Russia and other countries in Europe might too. She blamed it on England implementing socialized medicine. She also said that we had to be careful that the US didn't go that way too. Here we are in 2024 and you can get arrested in England for using the wrong pronouns and the leader of a media company is arrested when he lands in France.
Back in the day, like 1930s and 1940s, both my late grandmother and late mother-in-law lived in what were called "teacherages". This was in Louisiana and it was the norm. The teacherages they live in were more like boarding houses because they were provided meals. Both had fond memories of their times spent in teacher housing.
Agree, one of my favorite things to do as a child was to read the encyclopedia. We had World Book at home. My Poppee though had Encyclopedia Brittanica which was much better! Wish I could remember the names of my history books from grade school in the 1960s. They were amazing!! The best was our World History book.
I HATE Chantix. My mother and I were very close as I was her only daughter. We'd call each other every day and usually a few times each day.We'd take trips together an always had a lot of fun. Mom began taking Chantix to stop smoking and she had a personality change. She became very brittle and mean. Sadly, even after quitting Chantix, the personality change remained. It got to the point where, at times, my husband forbade me from going to her house because I'd come home crying. I don't know if she hated me when she died but she surely didn't like me. Broke my heart that we were never able to mend what had been one of the most important relationships of my life.

Even if Joe resigns, Kameltoe automatically becomes President so no inauguration is needed, except for optics.
If any of this happens, a majority of Congress must approve the new VP.
