Yeah this is unusual. Even in secured facilities I've worked in you have to badge out more for reasons of if an accident happens and when they count heads after the evacuation they don't want to be sending in emergency rescue looking for someone who had already left for lunch before the place caught fire.
This is definitely something to look out for. If they are indeed checking the ID's of people leaving, it could mean they're trying to keep select people in. That being said, it could arguably be happening for different reasons. So inconclusive in a sense, but a valid nugget of information as we work to put the puzzle pieces together..
TBF it might be that they have info on people of special interest from 01/06 and are trying to pick them up too. It was highly sus that they let John Sullivan go, I really doubt he left without ratting out other high level players in the Capitol assault.
