Sad to say somehow I raised a raging liberal. Not that he isn't surrounded by other family members that agree, but still. Anyway, I fear we may be one of those Civil War households. I told him to keep it down (playing a video game God this post just keeps getting more depressing) and he had a meltdown about how Trump is a fascist dictator. Didn't think it was the time to send this Babylon Bee article LOL. https://babylonbee.com/news/dangerous-fascist-dictator-censored-and-voted-out-of-office If there's any good news in this story, I think whatever HE reads to get his information must be chock full of pure PANIC. Otherwise you'd think he'd be glad to be rid of Orange Man Bad in a few days.

Smack him in the mouth dude wtf
Have to admit my husband and I were both gobsmacked by the disrespect. My kids are generally pretty respectful and we just don't really talk about politics anymore. This is the same statistician that the night of the election at 2 am told me he couldn't see how Biden could pull it out given the numbers. He added that he didn't want Trump to win, but wouldn't want him to get beaten because the other side cheated. So that's the type of dialog we have traditionally had on the subject.
When he went on about how if I'm tired of hearing him scream expletives he's just as tired of having to listen to Trump the fascist (which he doesn't, almost everything I do now is read or watch videos with my headset on), and live with people that could think he's "okay," I pointed out that he doesn't have to and maybe he should get his own place. I think he thinks I'm bluffing. Like Trump, though, I rarely if ever say things I don't mean. It makes me sad but I'm still resolute. Giving this one up to God.
Im just saying, if I behaved like that, my mom would knock me upside the head. ??
I was more afraid of Mom than my Dad.
Having a BPD mom with a non-existent fuse provided some interesting childhood memories. Good times. :)
That’s how it works though. Parents could raise a perfect child but it doesn’t matter because most good parents send their kids to state sponsored brainwash school.
The best gift a parent can give their child an education. So many of us have handed that responsibility to the government. It’s no surprise many young adults are unhinged.
Its out of character because its literal brainwashing.
Ground your kid, take away video games for a week and give him actual homework on Trump vs media. Give him a list of things to go through with a quiz in the end. :p
Dude, it is about education. The f leftists sell their evil ideas and hatred on the campus.
Maybe that’s why they’re so hell bent on free college ?
Yep. Gotta hold onto those brains a bit longer. K-12 isn’t enough time to really cement the anti-American mentality.
At City College in San Francisco, the propaganda is FREE.
Stay strong, momma! Hopefully your son comes around, one day. Just keep the love.
Thanks! I'll try my best.
An adult son living at home playing video games....nuff said.
How did he miss GamerGate? That's when anons discovered that D@RPA socially re-engineered SJWs.
edit: I just remembered, video games have become woke, if he's still playing video games now then he's fine with diversity and all that bullshit ruining games.
arguably the most effective entry level red pill is jordan peterson. maybe you can point him in that direction.
Yes, this. My adult son, (30) is a conservative and he listens to Jordan Peterson and has his book. We had two kids and both of them are conservative. Our daughter is 32 and she follows Q. However, they didn’t go to a liberal university. I’m convinced that’s where much of the brain washing takes hold.
I envy you honestly I do.
You're not the only one going through this. I just don't know how the mind wipe is so effective on some, yet we're not falling for any of it.
Objectively I think it's a personality type. People that like order and rules are very inclined toward the left. The post about a week ago about intuitive empaths was very interesting to me.
"Peopke that like order and rules are inclined to the left." I'm sorry... what? No.
Are you kidding me? "Wear a mask" "Okay!" Stay home "Okay!" Stand 6 feet apart "Okay!" tell on your neighbors and scold other people "Okay!"
Oh, I thought you meant law, order, and self-discipline. lol
Actually I thought about it after I posted LOL. Seriously though, there is something about the lack of critical thinking that blows my mind. Stupid example. My son threw out maple syrup because the expiration date was past. By two days or something. Ironically i had a friend the same day tell me her son did the same thing with pancake mix. We both said some version of, "well, it's not pork or dairy, those are not really strict expiration dates." They literally didn't know what we were saying. It's why they don't question whether masks actually WORK. Or see the incongruity of closing churches and keeping casinos open. It is part of the teaching process, I believe. They don't just indoctrinate, they literally change the way the human brain processes information and somehow get these kids to eliminate critical thinking.
It's low information people who fall for the brainwashing. They literally don't know any better.
Part of it is the appeal to authority. They like an authority figure telling them what to do, because the authority figure must be right due to their degree. It's often about qualifications to them and the perception of their peers, i.e. group think.
These kids don't look to their parents as authority figures because the parents don't have degrees in everything and these people have been taught through the education system that self-learning is a bad thing and that they must get their education from trained and qualified teachers.
I've had discussions with kids online where they said it was impossible to teach yourself an instrument without formal lessons (I've taught myself multiple instruments).
I've been told that it is impossible for me to read scientific papers and understand them because I don't have a formal science degree.
I've even been told that a physicist can't possibly understand climate science because they weren't trained in climate science.
They've lost the ability, or never gained it, to think critically and for yourself.
I can only hope that once the good guys publicly destroy the globalists these wayward people might be jolted back into reality instead of the mind-fog-world they seem to inhabit.
All the best and don't give up on him. Not yet anyway.
I don't give up easy, LOL.
It feels like our young adult children were activated somehow.
Both of mine were not entrenched and then all of the sudden they are concentrated on hate of everything godly.
make them watch video testimonies of people who visited hell
And anybody who stands for godliness. They now hate Trump and before election had thought the hatred of Trump was over the top. One never liked Trump and one liked Trump.
I have a slightly different take, HD. Me wonders if he is scared about his future so he lashes out bc you are “safe”. He strikes at something near and dear to you when you reprimand or gently chide him...like a verbal tennis match. You have every right to request a certain decibel level in your home. He is testing your boundaries. You sound like wonderful and caring parents. The literature I read says the male brain isn’t fully matured until 25-27. I remember the idiot things I said or did with my parents at that age. Be firm and polite in what you expect for the “house rules”. It is better he learns respect in your home rather than getting fired for lashing out at his future boss/colleague. You’ll get through this stage. Keep praying for wisdom! https://www.verywellfamily.com/individuation-and-young-adults-4051093#:~:text=Individuation%20is%20the%20process%20that%20occurs%20when%20a,has%20been%20seen%20as%20part%20of%20the%20family.
Thanks I very much needed that! God Bless.
P.S. he sounds like a very smart statistician!
Kick him out, tell him to get a job and his own place. He'll get cured really quick.
That's the plan. My husband and I looked at each other and said, "he's got to go." Not because he disagrees with us, but because he's a disrespectful ingrate.
I am one of two sisters in my family. My younger sister has had more health problems than I did when we were growing up, and that led my mom to be more protective of her. However, she has been brainwashed by the mainstream media and likely also by her humanities courses in college (she majors in history; I majored in electrical engineering and thus was subject to less brainwashing), and due to my mom’s protectiveness she has not had the amount of real world experience I do. She has a very unrealistic view of how the world works and has been rude to my mom. My mom told me that she regrets coddling her, even though it was well-intentioned at the time due to her poor health.
liberalism will be ending this week.
The lefty forums must not be convinced Bad Orange Man lost and is going away. He is probably seeing these discussions, and as they've taught him in school that Bad Orange Man will destroy the planet in 12 years, he is probably imagining his impending doom and is very frustrated.
Ask him to quote trumps speech on Jan6th where trump incited violence...
I've done this with all of my "left" leaning family.
The best answer I've gotten was " "we will not concede" incited the riot"... biggest buncha BS i've ever heard.
Even from a hardcore conservitave state, as a young 20's college student, it is social suicide to be a Republican and all it takes is to simply identify as one. 'Friends' will no longer associate with you and it's nearly impossible to find a woman who is willing to look your way if you are a conservative. I am in a city, so that explains it all, but the lengths our youth have taken this is absurd and outragous. I often liken conservatism to having basic morals and values, because the other side has neither. I'm afraid it only gets worse from here, I never would have thought it would be a 'sin' to hold a basic belief. After hearing about the group of Harvard grads going around trying to get right wingers stripped of their degrees, I'm worried, and forced into silence. Here I am though, I will always stand tall, all the way down to my final breath. I may be young, but I quickly learned that if you always do what YOU believe to be the right thing, then life has a way of working itself out accordingly.
I am a female professional in a major metropolitan area. It cracks me up how people assume they know my political views. It happens almost daily. When they find out that I lean right (pretty heavily) the cognitive dissonance is palpable, visible even. It's like watching a robot short circuit. Then they get really angry. It's amusing, mildly. Then they try to shame you in front of other people, probably because it usually works. Could care less. I'm like the Ricky Gervais of my community, only not as funny.
They always try to tell me, 'majority of college educated people lean left'. To that I tell them, 'take out all the fine arts majors and check again' ? Growing up, bad eggs aside, I have seen nothing but respect, acceptance, and debate from the right. Lefties are obviously incapable of any of the three, spare a few.
Peace and blessings to you, momma. (Or dad) it’s so hard to see our children turn out differently than we hoped. Just wanted you to know I’m sending love. We all choose our own path. I’m having similar pain in a civil war family. It’s so hard to see people we love be so lost.
It's mind boggling. My sister is genuinely concerned about her husband who had a tumor removed about 18 months ago. They couldn't get a huge clean margin because of where it was so he has been on Chemo for over a year with no end in sight. She is so tired and afraid of illness that she has shut her whole life down because of COVID. It's hard to watch. I get why she's afraid, vulnerable people do fare much worse with the Wuhu Flu. But I can't change my life or the way I do things for other people and I just do not see the benefits of doing so. It has put some distance between us for sure. Lots of eye rolling when my husband and I continue to travel and eat out. They're not so much live and let live as they pretend.
Thanks I have and will continue to do so! For yours too!
rallies
Well, you know you will need to get him out of your house sooner or later as others have said, but for right now concentrate on getting through the next 2 weeks. He will need you when he finds out how badly he's been lied to, because Lefties entire identities are tied into their politics. He will be shaken to his core, adrift and in despair, and he will need your love and understanding to gently guide him back on track. Later, when he is ready, then kick his ass out of your house.
Yea, I am interested to see how he reacts to what I think is coming.
You didn't raise a liberal. Everyone makes their own choices. And unless you homeschooled him he is another victim of the Public School System.
Meh, I am a victim of the Public School System and so are many of my son's friends who are conservative.
Could you take him in hand to hand combat? I can probably defeat my entire family. The one who would give me the most trouble is my daughter. She's viscous and creative.
Nah, I am a 5'2 female 135 pounds. My husband is 62 but could give him a hard time LOL. He'd be sore the next day though, and there's nothing worse than a crabby husband.
Help him find the truth when this is over. If he's a reasonable person and loves his country hopefully he will find it.
That's my hope. Time will tell.
Gosh can’t imagine living in the same house as a loony lefty. Stay strong Dolly.
Smack the shit out of him and destroy his video games
LOL
Im sorry your son was taken over by the brainwashing. Many of my friends in my age bracket are total cuck libs. I know many families at war with each other. Just drop bombs and make em love you like we did to Japan :)
LOL good advice.
Sounds like it's time to send the boy out on his own. Working seems to make conservatives.
I have been arguing with my Wife and daughter for the last 4 years. They have been programmed with MSM crap and do not want my Qanon opinion. It has been very hard for a long time to deal with their brainwashing for 4+ years. POTUS Trump is my son's and my President. Been on Q posts since its inception. Learned a lot of how massive our government has been with corruption, though I knew it was but not as much as the left and deep state has shown us right in our face. If many of these corrupt individuals (and it could be literally thousands charged) get the ultimate sentencing, I and my son will not shed one tear.
My Mom and husband are both on the Trump Train, sister and brother in law too. Most of my family and extended family is liberal. I don't understand how people can't see, if nothing else, that the federal government is nothing more than a giant criminal money laundering syndicate. It's right in your face.
what type of lib he is?
economic: socialism/communism
or
social: SJW, "anti-racist"
Smackity smack, and unplug the Xbox. Pour the Dew down the drain, and make him watch Rocky 4 on repeat until he kisses the ground he walks on.
I’m sure you love your kid regardless, but tell him “no sissies” allowed in the house and that it’s Trump Country.
Move the little shit out of your basement and cut off the tendies
Blame your school system
I feel your pain, but it's the opposite for me. When I visit my parents, they scream about the evil cheeto dictator with CNN blaring in the background. I blocked my Dad on FB (when I still used it) and try to send my sister information, but the the libtard force is too powerful with that one. My boyfriend tells me daily to be careful what I say around them, lest I end up in the gulag. We're in fucking clown world honey, but just know you're not alone.
Lots of games reveal human nature, cause and effect, economics, law of supply and demand... imagine being a gamer and a liberal
I would somehow get a patriot to install some sort of monitoring software on your router or his computer.
It would be FASCINATING glimpse into the mind of a libtard.
No thanks. I'm sure that going through a libs browsing history would get you on some kind of list for all the cheese pizza they are looking at.
He probably wouldn’t have picked up on the sarcasm.
